Who Killed Amy Barnes? was a whodunnit storyline that ran from March 2017 to October 2017, when Amy Barnes was found dead in her flat by Ryan Knight and her dad Mike Barnes. There were five suspects, in which one was the culprit.

James could have killed Amy as part of a twisted masterplan to frame his enemy Ste for the crime as revenge for Ste sleeping with James' fiancé John Paul McQueen.
Ryan Knight[]
Ryan and Amy were planning to move to America with Leah and Lucas for a new life. It's possible that Amy could've been having second thoughts about moving to America, which could've provoked Ryan into a fit of rage.
Harry Thompson[]
Harry is fiercely loyal to Ste and would have wanted to stop Amy from taking Leah and Lucas to America.
DS Armstrong[]
DS Armstrong was secretly stalking Amy in the weeks leading up to her death.
Culprit[]
Ryan Knight was confronted by Amy about cheating on her with a man, who turned out to be Kyle Kelly, on their wedding day. Amy tells Ryan that he left his mobile phone on and she received a voicemail of him with Kyle. Amy threatened to tell the whole village that Ryan was gay, so he suffocated her to keep his secret safe.
