• Hi do you think you could please try create all the LOA pages for regular characters? Even if you add the missing template on them:

Eg: (Calvin Valentine's LOA)

2006

HollyoaksLogo
HollyoaksLogo
This section is currently missing. You can help the Hollyoaks Wiki by adding it.

2007

2008

etc.

Thanks.

• Thank you!

• Would you be interested in updating the LOA pages via the episode cast lists as each episode page is created? Perfectly fine if you don't want to, however.

Fantastic job on Neeta's LOA page, by the way!

• Thnx. I've literally been going from episode to episode using UK Soap Share to complete it. I'm editing videos of my favourite characters to add to my soap opera bank, so I needed to be sure which episodes she was featured in.

With regards to adding the episode cast lists, I'm currently busy with my personal life, and only needed to complete Neeta's LOA page, so I don't really have much time to do that. But, I will continue to make edits throughout the site, when I have time. Thnx again, hopefully one day this website will be complete!

• hi

Loading editor
• Hey! How are you doing?

Loading editor
• yeah I'm good. Have you watched Hollyoaks recently?

Loading editor
• Yep! I got hooked back on it in April and haven't missed an episode since. Tuesday's C4 episode was a shock!

Loading editor
• Do you believe that Harry is actually dead, because something doesn't seem right. Usually with shock deaths I have an instinct as to whether they are faked or not, but in this case I have no clue.

Loading editor
• I agree, I don't think he's dead either. Surely they wouldn't kill off a character who part of two very popular couples, has now got a child in the village and is a long-running character who has mostly grown up on-screen. They killed Sienna and tried to trick the audience into thinking that she was dead but brought her back. Same with Nico, they brought her back after two years.

Loading editor
• But, Sienna didn't have a goodbye video posted on YouTube or Twitter, but Harry's came out immediately.

Loading editor
• Oh, I thought she did... What do you think on the decision to kill Harry off?

Loading editor
• I think that Bryan Kirkwood is a genius if Harry's death is fake, because it is so authentic that it is difficult to fault, unlike any other fake death I have ever seen on Hollyoaks. But if it is true, then he is an absolute idiot.

Loading editor
• I 100% agree. It's a poor decision if he axed Harry, but if the death is fake then it could be an award-winning storyline.

Loading editor
• Also, I think that if his death is faked, then he is going to remain "dead" for a long time, because there is no way they are going to get rid of a villain like Breda anytime soon. She'll at least be on for a few more years.

Loading editor
• The thing that doesn't make sense is that if a popular character like Harry is going to die, then his exit storyline would be more explosive than that, because that exit was all about Breda. Also, in the following episode to his death we never saw Harry at all, not even Breda dragging his body into the car or anything like that, it was weird.

Loading editor
• On another matter, was Harry born on 1999 or 1997, because it says on Tony's profile under the children section "Harry Thompson (1997)", but on Harry's profile it says that he was born 1999?

Loading editor
• 1999 - Tessie and Tony had an on-screen relationship between 1998 and 1999, which ended when Tony "discovered" that Tessie had lied about her pregnancy. However, in 2007, Tessie told Tony that she had lied about not being pregnant and introduced him to Harry.

Loading editor
• Thanks for having this discussion with me. I was so confused about this that I wanted to hear another person's point of view on it, so cheers! :)

Loading editor
• Also, have you ever believed that a character's death was faked on Hollyoaks, but it turned out to be true? Because I've never had that feeling yet, probably because I've only been watching the show since 2017, but have you ever thought a death was faked but it turned out to be wrong?

Loading editor
• I'm still not convinced that Russ is dead. Mostly because I don't really want it to be. Other than that, no - I haven't had that with any other soaps either. How about you?

Loading editor
• Me neither. I definitely believe that Russ is dead though. I am hoping that Neeta's death was faked because she is my favourite soap character of all-time, but I know that she is 100% dead though.

Loading editor
• Do you mind if I ask how old you are?

Loading editor
• 17. Neeta's death was very unnecessarily brutal for a well-received character.

Loading editor
• cool. Do you go to school?

Loading editor
• I agree. I felt that Neeta had way more to give, I felt like they could've developed her character into something really special.

Loading editor
• also, sorry if I'm asking personal questions. I'm curious to get know you, because I never really speak to anyone who appreciates soap operas as much as I do, so I'm just intrigued to know about you. I hope that doesn't sound too weird.

Loading editor
• That's fine - yep, New Zealand goes from year 1 to 13 - I don't think any/many other countries do...

Neeta and Hunter remind me of Becca and Justin. It was a student & teacher relationship which turned romantic so it was "wrong" yet it didn't feel like a bad thing (mostly due to Neetq and Becca still being young whilst Justin and Hunter were towards the end of their high school education). Interestingly, Neetq and Becca were both murdered due to their relationships - Neeta because of Mac's jealousy and Becca because Fran (Brooke's mum) was misinformed about Justin's age and thought he was underage.

Loading editor
• Mac was just awful, at least Fran was apologetic and regretful for what she did. In the end anyway. It's such a shame.

For me, Hollyoaks is very bitter sweet, because it is fast moving and so many twists and turns, but I sometimes hate some of the deaths like Clare, Neeta, Tegan and Harry (if he is dead). Whereas with other soaps, things are always reliable and steady like Emmerdale, but they always takes risks and some pay off but some don't.

Don't get me wrong, I adore Emmerdale to the ends of the earth, because it is my favourite show and all my favourite people are still there, except for Val, Adam, Lisa, and Robert (because Ryan is leaving the role soon unfortunately). But, sometimes I wish the episodes would be more exhilirating, because there is NEVER a dull moment in Hollyoaks. I haven't been on the edge of my seat with Emmerdale since the Dawn, Will and Harriet storyline which was absolutely brilliant, and I am certainly looking forward to the factory fire storyline (of which I predict Frank will die from). Who do you think will be killed off in the factory fire, because it was confirmed that one person will definitely die?

Loading editor
• I got so sick of Emmerdale that I had to turn off, and that's pretty much why I gave Hollyoaks a chance. However I do still follow spoilers and plan to watch the factory fire. I think it could be either Frank or Tracy - Tracy hasn't had many storylines for ages and there doesn't seem like much for her character right now, whilst for Frank, Megan is leaving so maybe that's why she leaves, is because Frank dies? I'd love for it to be Lee or Nate - although Nate has storylines coming up but Robert might kill Lee and put his body in the burning factory?

Loading editor
• I doubt Tracy will die, because I think that there is still so much more they could do with her character with relationships, trauma storylines, etc. But, I definitely think Frank will die, because there isn't too many storylines they can give him, and it will have a great aftermath effect for Tracy and Vanessa, and obviously Megan who is leaving and this would explain why. Emmerdale barely has shock deaths unless the actor/actress decides to quit for good, so I doubt that will happen. I do think Robert might kill Lee, I am intrigued to see how he will depart from the show, as long as Robert doesn't get killed off.

Loading editor
• I doubt they'd kill Robert off. considering he was born and raised on-screen. Same reason they didn't kill Joe off.

Loading editor
• I know the chances of it happening are extremely unlikely, but in the soap world there is always a possibility.

Loading editor
• Yes, Coronation Street did it back in 2001 with Peter Barlow's sister, Susan, but it proved to be a very unpopular move.

Loading editor
• If you could bring back 5 Hollyoaks characters back from the dead, who would you choose and in what order?

Loading editor
• Russ Owen, Frankie Osborne, Gordon Cunningham, Clare Devine, Kurt Benson (quite a few more I'd want to bring back, however). Who would you pick?

Loading editor
• 1. Neeta Kaur

2. Harry Thompson (but I think his death is faked anyway so I won't count it)

3. Clare Devine

4. Jade Albright

5. Tegan Lomax

6. Nico Blake

Loading editor
• I really miss Clare Devine, she was the best Hollyoaks villain without question, and one of the best villains in soap history.

Loading editor
• The other reason as I would want her back is, not only just for her to shake up the show a bit more, would be because her exit felt cheap and done at the last moment. Her fake death in 2007 was far, far, far better than her death in 2013 - I've filmed better death scenes myself, on a budget of nothing!

Loading editor
• I agree 100%, Clare Devine was a legendary character and deserved a legendary exit at the very least!

Loading editor
• Her first exit was legendary as she "faded away into the abyss" of the water. They could have done her 2013 death similarly as to reference this.

Loading editor
• Her first exit was my favourite ever exit in soap history. In 2013, they shouldn't have killed her off. It is always possible to bring her back as unlikely as it may be. But, if they do bring her back, it will reopen an old era and create a buzz. Clare Devine deserves to live, and if not then she deserves to die in the biggest stunt the soap world has to offer.

Loading editor
• I agree, but it'll be hard to top Emmerdale's motorway pile-up

Loading editor
• Actually, I think another character that would be interesting to bring back would be Fraser Black. It'd be interesting to see how he reacts to the Donovans and seeing Grace in a wheelchair, although I don't think she'd ever forgive him for what he said before his death/"death" in April 2014, and would probably try kill him either herself or contracted.

Loading editor
• That could be very good, but I'd rather see Clare back, because seeing her react with Grace, I reckon their sibling rivalry would be amazing.

Loading editor
• They could even bring both of them back, but get rid of Fraser which would allow their rivalry to explode and take the forefront.

Loading editor
• yeah!

Loading editor
• I'm now really confused about Harry's death. I think that he's alive, but at the same time I think that's he's dead.

Apparently, Parry is joining a musical called By the Waters of Liverpool as part of a spring 2020 tour. That means he must be dead in the story, right? But, at the same time, I've never seen such a low-key death, and he has got to be the most talked about character in Hollyoaks. Surely, if he had definitely died, why not show Breda putting the body in a body bag the following episode, because why leave the audience speculating about whether he's dead, when they've already confirmed it.

Also, in an interview he said that he was shocked when he found out that he would be leaving but said he might've left some time soon anyway. But, in another interview, he said that it was his choice to leave, but was shocked when he found out that he would be killed-off.

Loading editor
• I mean, in Emmerdale, they revealed that Joe was still alive despite not bringing the actor back for a reveal, who was in America at the time too.

Loading editor
• That's true, but it wouldn't make sense that Breda let Harry walk free, and he certainly did not escape Breda, because otherwise she would be acting more anxious? Parry would have to make an on-screen appearance to prove he's alive, and that Harry's still a part of the show.

Loading editor
• I wouldn't think the alleyway would be the best place to commit a murder because I would think that the carpark would be used for the pub, the rowing club and the nearby houses/buildings and the alleyway is most likely the only way to get between the carpark and the centre of the village so there's a good chance Harry could have been found and taken to the hospital (which isn't far away) by a passer-by, and there's even a chance that there's a camera with a view of the alley.

Loading editor
• that sounds like a great possible theory.

I certainly hope he's still alive, because otherwise his "death" wasn't genius, and it was just pure Bryan Kirkwood stupidity. At least we'll get to find out whether he's still alive or not this summer, because in the summer trailer there shows Goldie discovering a body in the lake with Breda looking worried, and Louis Loveday and Harry are the only victims to not be discovered, and we all know that Louis is buried up at Breda's Farm, so it has got to be Harry, or someone that the producers' want us to believe is Harry but might be some unknown person.

But, I doubt it will be a new victim, because summer finishes on the 23rd September, and there is already going to be another shock death in October (which I predict will possibly be Luke), because they said it will be one of the longest serving characters, so either Tony (which it can't be because Tony's dad is coming to the show, and Tony is the longest serving character and the only character to still be in the show from the very first episode of Hollyoaks, so that would be a suicidal move, even for Bryan Kirkwood), Cindy, Darren, Nancy, Luke or Mandy. But, on the other hand, it might not be Luke, because why would you bring back one of the longest serving character back, just to kill them off, because that would just seem rushed.

Loading editor
• They've got a death in the sixth week of summer (Harry was in the first week)

I think the body will be Louis's due to the scene of Leela in the police station telling the police that a killer is on the loose and they have to catch them.

Loading editor
• But Louis' body is buried a Breda's farm, which is outside of the village. Why would Breda move the body into the village, because Goldie discovers it?

Also, what do you mean there is a death in the sixth week of summer? Where did you hear that from, and if it was from the internet, could you send me a link of it?

Loading editor
• Breda dug up the body when the teens were at the farm. Jack almost caught her and that's when she proposed with Louis's ring (Episode 5194 (19th June 2019)), and we don't know where she moved his body too.

It was in an interview with Bryan Kirkwood about the summer storylines. Can't find the exact article but this article says "Breda will claim ANOTHER victim in the final week of Six Weeks Of Summer." at the end.

Loading editor
• In that case, it probably is Louis' body, I didn't realise that Breda actually moved the body.

Also, maybe in that interview, he was referring to Harry, because this was before Harry had "died", and just said that this would happen in the final week to make us believe it wouldn't happen in the first week of summer. Like Warren's return, we were told his first scenes would air in the first week of autumn, when in fact he made a shock return during summer.

Loading editor
• I don't see why, considering they say "We can’t reveal who it is that Breda kills this week... But just as we get our breath back from the events of this week, Breda will claim ANOTHER victim in the final week of Six Weeks Of Summer."

Loading editor
• Ah, I see. I hope it isn't another shocker, because people reckon it might be Joel, because he is dating Goldie whilst being a priest, he may as well be wearing a red t-shirt saying "kill me next". Who do you think Breda's next victim will be? I think that it's definitely between Stuart and Joel, but it is way more likely to be Joel.

• OMG, I think it is Joel that dies, because that would explain why Warren would come back to the village. Oh no!

Loading editor
• I think it might be Prince - but on accident like when Silas killed Heidi instead of Lynsey.

Loading editor
• oh my, you might be right!

Loading editor
• It would make sense, considering he's due to depart soon and if he was leaving I don't see why they'd put him with Peri.

Loading editor
• Maybe, he changes his mind and realises that he will only ever truly love Lily like Alfie when he left the village without Yasmine.

Loading editor
• I hope not, because just as Lisa said, Lily would probably want Prince to find someone else. That's not to say that he can't love Lily anymore. Hunter probably would have been a good person for Prince to confide in but unfortunately, he's no longer on the show.

• Did you watch Hollyoaks when Neeta's sister Asha came along? And if so, what did you think of Hunter & Asha's relationship?

Loading editor
• No, I wasn't watching around that time. I did watch the school explosion on Dailymotion but only knew the rest of the info from here.

Loading editor
• Who do you think will die in the massive stunt in October, they said it will be one of the longest serving characters, so it has to be between Tony, Jack, Cindy, Darren, Nancy, Luke and Mandy?

Loading editor
• I thought it was only suggested that someone may die. I don't want them to kill off any of those characters - they'd definitely kill the show if it was Tony but probably ruin it too if it were any of the others.

Loading editor
• oh, I might have been mistaken then. phew!

Loading editor
• If there is a death, it won't be Luke as he's due to return full-time and it won't be Tony as his next story has already been revealed.

Loading editor
• Don't worry, I think that I'm definitely mistaken, which is a massive relief, because I thought there were going to be three major deaths within 4 months, which would've been a suicidal plan. So, thank god I misunderstood.

Looks like there's only one more upcoming death that has been confirmed. Who do you think has a good chance of being killed-off?

Personally, Joel is the most likely choice, (because he is sleeping with Goldie whilst being a priest, and it would explain why Warren would return to the village after kidnapping two children).

However, Stuart is my second most likely choice, (which would be a brilliant decision, because it would take the far-right storyline into a completely different direction, by seeing how Jonny and the gang will react to his death could be mind-blowing).

My third most likely choice would be Prince, (this is because, his death could be by accident like when Silas killed Heidi like you said, or he could be killed because of him not facing his responsibilities as "Steph's step-dad" as Breda did give him a firm warning before when she thought they were going to be an item. Also, Prince is leaving and it has been confirmed, but on the other hand, Malique also confirmed that his character would still be alive in the show, but then again you can never trust what they tell you, because they always only tell you what they want you to know and what they want you to believe).

Loading editor
• I think Liam also may be a possibilty. In the trailer, Breda overhears Mercedes talk about the affair, and Liam is the father of Iona, whom's life he plays very little role in. Stuart, I think, would be rather unlikely as Bryan Kirkwood spoke of "a week that changes the lives of the Maaliks and Ste forever." in September.

Loading editor
• Ah, never mind.

Loading editor
• Actually yeah, maybe it could be Liam. I'd hate for it to be Joel or Prince, but I wouldn't feel as bad if it were Liam. Also, it will make Grace's hit-and-run storyline a lot more interesting, especially considering Mercedes was the one driving the car and is directly responsible, and if Liam were to die, then he wouldn't be able to protect her any longer.

Loading editor
• I think that Liam is probably my most likely choice now, with Joel second, and Prince third. I can't imagine it being anyone else in the village, unless she kills someone else by mistake.

Loading editor

I didn't think about it - you're right, it definitely would make the storyline much interesting.

Loading editor
• However, looking at the Summer trailer, my most likely suspect is still Joel, because I can't see his relationship with Goldie going anywhere, and why repeat the same storyline again about Joel having to choose between his girlfriend and the priesthood again. I'm sure they would only do that unless there was an ulterior motive, like when Harry had to go on the run for the second time which in fact was because they wanted to kill him off.

Him and Goldie are a strange pairing, and I can't see her binning Goldie off, but I can't see them ending any time soon either. Also, Liam is at the forefront of Hollyoaks at the moment with Grace's hit and run, and therefore he has more to offer at the moment to the show as a character than Joel has.

Also, during the Summer trailer, there are many things that lead me to believe that Joel is going to die:

1. Breda is in the confession room talking to Joel.

2. Joel is hugging Goldie looking unhappy as though he is about to dump her which would make Breda angry.

3. Breda giving a speech about protecting "the good men of this village" in the pub with Goldie being present and at the front of the room, which leads me to believe that Breda has done something bad towards someone she cares about, like killing Joel or Prince even.

4. Joel is looking like he has been rumbled with his shirt unbuttoned in the McQueen house. 5. Breda looks as though she is about to hit someone with a blunt object in the McQueen house.

Having said that, there are some things during the summer trailer that could lead me to believe that Liam might die instead:

1. Liam asking Mercedes to leave Sylver and Bobby to be with him which Mercedes might actually do, but Breda might put a stop to that, which would make sense, because characters always die when they give other characters ultimatums.

2. Breda overhearing Mercedes on the phone saying that Sylver can never know about her affair, but on the other hand, Mercedes never mentioned Liam's name, so maybe Mercedes will lie about who it is and it might lead to nothing.

3. Liam and Mercedes nearly getting caught by Breda, or did she actually see them together but they just didn't notice.

4. Mercedes kissing Liam on the neck, but Liam looking behind her and looking scared as though his affair has been rumbled by Sylver or possibly Bobby, Breda or someone else.

5. Mercedes coming off her phone and falling to the floor, with a shocked and possibly teary look on her face.

I think that it's definitely a close call between Joel and Liam. With Prince, he isn't even in the trailer, and he has confirmed that his character is leaving alive, which may be a lie to put us off the scent, but I now heavily doubt he will die, because there doesn't seem to be much reasoning behind why he should or would die.

Loading editor
• Shock factor, I suppose. I mean, there were a million and one reasons as to why they shouldn't have killed off Harry but they still did it anyway. Going by your lists, Joel was always in danger going by the trailer especially if Breda confesses - that's really why she killed Louis. I still think Liam is the most likely suspect, although that doesn't mean anyone else couldn't be it. They've already finished planning Breda's final story so that'll probably be at the end of the year - what do you think will happen?

Loading editor
• Yeah, but I don't believe Harry's dead though, because it doesn't make sense. I'm banking on the unlikely chance that Bryan Kirkwood is a genius and not brain-dead. I always knew that Bryan Kirkwood makes massive decisions, but I usually see them coming. This time I didn't see it coming at all, even though there were many signs of it coming throughout his final episode.

Also, what do you mean they've already finished planning Breda's final story? Is Moya Brady leaving? If so, when and why, and was it the producer's decision if that was the case? Also, do you have an online article about Breda's final story?

Loading editor
• https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/hollyoaks/a28504920/hollyoaks-spoilers-breda-twists-harry-death/

I think Breda is being axed, as majority of the Hollyoaks serial killers are.

Loading editor
• Serial killers tend to remain for up to 3 years, like Cameron who remained for almost 2 years and 8 months. I reckon Breda will leave at the end of 2019 in a christmas special, because they want to keep her in the show, but she will have killed 9 people by the end of the month, and I doubt that will continue for another full year. Her kill count will be at 9 by the end of August, which is the highest of any other character including Cameron who killed 8 people. It would make sense that she claims a tenth victim, and then gets killed off during a christmas special as she attempts to claim an eleventh victim, but then gets found out!

Loading editor
• That'd make Breda rather similar to Toby Mills, who killed 12/13 characters (that we know of, most were unknown to the viewer) between July 2002 and November 2003. Breda has killed nine characters for around the same duration.

Loading editor
• Oh, I forgot about Toby Mills. He killed 13 characters (10 unknown characters and 3 minor characters).

This storyline is doing my head-in. I really hope that Harry is alive, because it all seems completely genuine, and I now understand why Bryan Kirkwood might have thought it was the right decision, but it was a diabolical choice. I genuinely believe and accept that Harry is dead, and that I was wrong for truly believing that he was still alive. Let's just hope the next death isn't going to be a toxic decision.

Also, did you watch Emmerdale? And if so what did you think about the factory explosion and the death, because I thought it was bloody brilliant.

Loading editor
• The storyline is a bit annoying. The Toby Mills one was better in how he was almost caught and even was caught a few times. Once by his mother, Linda, whom he unintentionally killed, and then by Ellie whom he confessed to. It's always more exciting when the killer has close calls, and it's unknown to the viewer whether or not they may be at their end.

Regarding Emmerdale, it was an absolutely fantastic stunt, very well acted, but I could have given them 20 other characters I'd rather were killed off than Frank.

Loading editor
• Breda's storyline would be amazing if Harry's death was fake, because making the audience think that the best character is dead and actually making their death look 100% legit is the best thing you can do. But, it is even better when you bring them back, because it brings the audience back 10 times harder. Harry's death storyline was really weak, and the song played during his death was pretty pathetic (Apologise by OneRepublic & Timbaland). If by some miracle he is still alive, then this storyline is as good as Lucy Beale's death in EastEnders, and I thought that nothing could even come close to that storyline, but Hollyoaks could.

With regards to Emmerdale, I personally think that Frank was the right person to kill off, because I felt like there wasn't any more storylines they could do for him that wouldn't be repetitive. Also, the aftermath effect of this storyline is bloody brilliant. He is great actor and his death was a special one indeed, not many get to go out with a bang all to themselves.

• I think, with Gaynor Faye also departing, it would have been a better story if they had driven off into the sunset in a convertible together. When they axed Rebecca and had her go with Ross, they managed to please pretty much all the fans - the people that didn't like her, the people that loved her and the people that loved her and Ross together.

• NEW SUSPECT FOR BREDA'S NEXT VICTIM: Laurie Shelby

He was charged 4 years for trying to rape Diane, but the prison van crashed with Finn, Laurie and the driver in it. Laurie escaped the prison van and is on the run, and is no doubt heading back to the village. He is someone I would gladly like to see die as Breda's ninth victim. I know it's only a possibility, but fingers crossed it is him because I wouldn't want Liam or Joel to die, but I'd gladly see the back of Laurie!

Loading editor
• Joel can't be one of Breda victims as he is returning after paternity leave.

Loading editor
• where is the article for that, because I can't find it?

Loading editor
• I read it on Facebook (Hollyoaks would probably have corrected it if it was false as they moderate absolutely everything to the extreme on that page) but I can't find any news articles to back that up, nor can I find anything to say that Rory is leaving the show in the first place.

Loading editor
• If you are right then it must be Laurie or Liam, but probably Laurie, because I doubt Laurie would escape just to be sent back to prison again, and I doubt he will leave the village either, so I hope he is Breda's ninth victim.

Loading editor
• I mean, it would make sense. Laurie isn't Hannah's biological father but Breda sees that, because they are married, he has the duty to be a father to Hannah, and because of what he's done to Sinead, Hannah may be affected as a result so Breda might try protect the Hutchinson/O'Connors by killing Laurie. Although, I don't really see that as a good ending to the storyline - I think it would make it lose a bit of "credibility".

Loading editor
• It would lose credibility over Sinead's rape storyline, but it will add to the build of the climax of Breda's serial killer storyline.

Loading editor
• Exactly. It just depends on which storyline they think is more "important" to the show.

Loading editor
• I didn't like how they killed off Mac, because I was waiting for him to be locked up for Neeta's murder. But instead, Breda killed him, which disappointed me. Although, he did have locked-in syndrome for about 8-10 months, which is the worst kind of prison you can get, so I guess he did suffer a little bit.

Anyway, my prime suspects are Laurie and Liam at the moment, which is good because I'd gladly see the back of Laurie, and I wouldn't like it if Liam died but I wouldn't hate it either.

Imagine if Breda's storyline continues for another year, and she ends up with victim number 20. That would make a lot of viewers unhappy xd!

Loading editor
• I agree. They built him up as a very villainous character, only to have Breda kill him in a rather anti-climactic way. That's my biggest problem nowadays with Hollyoaks - the villain exits aren't so good. Rob Hawthorne went out, literally, with a bang in December 1999 after setting a bus on fire during a party in an attempt to kill everyone on board, but only managed to trap himself. Toby Mills met his end in November 2003 after forcing his wife, Ellie, to jump roof to roof of tall buildings to see if their love could survive anything, but when Ellie's brother, Dan, witnessed Toby harming Ellie, he ended up pushing Toby off the roof. What made it even better is that Toby had allowed Dan to be accused of his murders for at least 7 months. They've started to decline now, to Clare's cheap, poor death as well as both Mac and Glenn's anti-climatic deaths at the hands of Breda, yet another ridiculous serial killer in the chain.

Honestly, I think the "Bad Dads" idea was crap in the first place. Cameron was brilliant as he took out everyone he thought would stand in the way of himself and Leela, Niall for revenge on the McQueens, Toby so he could feel that he had control, Silas (mostly) for women with a lack of morals. Like, come on, she's seriously going after Darren because he was late picking up his kid a few times? Killing Harry because she thinks he won't be a good father? The sooner she goes, the bettwe in my opinion. Probably Hollyoaks's worst killer yet.

Loading editor
• Honestly, I think Breda is great. I think all the characters and ideas are great. The music is great. The stunts they do are great. Everything is pretty much perfect. For me, it is like they have all the pieces and they are breath-taking, but they can sometimes be in completely the wrong order. Killing Harry was a stupid decision, but only if his death is true, which it probably is to be honest. They have all the right ideas, but they can sometimes be completely out of control.

Loading editor
• I do like the stunts they do, and I like pretty much every character (aside from Breda) that we're supposed to like (I don't like Stuart and Jonny, but that's because we're not supposed to).

Now I'm definitely sure it is between Joel and Liam. It wouldn't make sense if it was Laurie or Prince. Fingers crossed it's Liam and not Joel, because I would hate it if Joel got killed off!

• Fingers crossed it's Liam!

People on Facebook think that Laurie might end up getting killed off from his head injury, similarly to what happened to Ziggy in 2015.

Loading editor
• I'd rather it is Laurie than Liam, because it is still a possibility. But, yeah I was thinking the same too when I was watching the episode. I think that Laurie sustained a subdural hematoma as a result of the accident like Ziggy.

Also, Out of interest have you ever watch Waterloo Road or Ackley Bridge?

Loading editor
• No, I've seen clips from Waterloo Road but never have properly watched it. Barely even heard of Ackley Bridge - I only know that it's broadcast by Channel 4 and that's it.

Loading editor
• Laurie's dead, which means that he is not Breda's next victim. So, it is between Joel and Liam unfortunately :(

Loading editor
• Well we were all right about Laurie going to die from his head injury.

Loading editor
• I wish he just stayed alive for a few weeks, then came back to the village and let Breda finish the job. Anyway, I think that Joel is definitely dead, because of the trailer it looks pretty inevitable. Joel is in the McQueen house with his shirt unbuttoned, looking like someone unexpected has walked in, and Breda is in the McQueen house about to hit someone with an object.

• I really hope it's not Joel. Maybe Breda manages to get Liam at 26 Leigh Road, they have an argument over the affair, Liam goes to walk out and Breda bludgeons him with the object.

Loading editor
• i really doubt that, because that seems like a bit of a longshot. I hope that you're right though. The only thing that I'm clinging onto is that it would make more sense to kill Liam than Joel, because it would change the storyline significantly.

Loading editor
• I don't see why Breda would actually kill Joel. Surely she would want Goldie to be happy and she would be able to see that Goldie is happy with Joel. Both of her twins are independent (one not even living in the village) so I don't see how Breda could call him a bad father.

There's a chance that the clip of Breda hitting someone with an object isn't even how one of the characters are killed off. Sylver could discover the affair, move back into 26 Leigh Road, Mercedes tries to talk to him but Breda is home alone and she attacks Mercedes.

Loading editor
• She could hit Joel, because he is supposed to be a priest aka "one of god's children", and he is going back on his word to sleep with Goldie, so Breda might act on that. Also, by dating Goldie, he is in Breda's book, Prince's step-father. She has killed for less, I mean look at Harry, he was a father for less than 24 hours, and she killed him instantly. I think you are probably right about it not being Joel, and that it is Liam, but I've just got this bad feeling that it might be Joel nevertheless. I can't see it being anyone other than those two. I seriously doubt it will be Mercedes, because Kirkwood is stupid, but he isn't that stupid. Actually, scrap that, he is that stupid. Bye Mercedes! LOL! I'm joking. I doubt that it will be Mercedes, because otherwise Grace's hit and run storyline isn't going to go anywhere without the actual driver of the car that hit her, but if Liam dies it leaves the story wide open. Fingers crossed it is him, because it is actually not a bad idea if Liam dies, because I don't really like his character that much anyway, and it would be brilliant for the story.

Loading editor
• I think Breda might go after Joel but Liam just makes so much sense, especially in how it will affect Mercedes. I hope the whole thing falls apart, D.S. Yates is exposed and the three of them are all imprisoned, although I doubt that's how it will end - this is Hollyoaks after all.

• OMG, you are right, it is Louis' body that gets discovered, because we see Leela in a police interview saying "there's a kill out there and you should be trying to catch them". The only people whose bodies have not been discovered yet are Louis and Harry, and Breda's next kill must be either Liam or Joel. Leela has no relation to Liam, Joel or Harry so why would she care, but Louis is the father of her child, so she must be talking about him. However, maybe multiple bodies are discovered within that time period. You never know, it is Hollyoaks.
Leela Lomax (2019)
Loading editor
• Exactly. But yes, it's possible that the bodies of Louis and Harry are both found at the same time - do you happen to know if the bodies of Wes (Sylver's dad) or Vinnie (Goldie's dad) were ever found.

The story is quite interesting but I think it would have been even more so if the characters were all killed off in a whodunnit. It would be up to the viewers to work out the connections between Carl, Russ, Glenn etc with the killer. Then the killer could have been revealed in Wes's flashback, and then maybe Breda looks at herself in the mirror and has flashbacks to committing the murders, confirming that she is the killer. However, I could see why they wouldn't want to do that as that's what happened with Toby Mills's killings - first murder was in July 2002, second in December and there were a few more attacks/killings until Toby was revealed to be the killer in April 2003 after killing Roxy.

Loading editor
• I know that Vinnie's body was found, because Sylver was charged with his murder. However, with regards to Wes, I think that his body was found, because Breda said that Sylver's biological mother killed Wes, and she might have said that to the police and framed her for Wes' murder. But, there is a chance that Wes' body could still be out there, but if his body was found, it would be a skeleton by now, because he died decades ago, and why would anyone think it would have anything to do with Breda or any of the McQueen's. I don't think think his body will be discovered, because he was never in the village, so why would they find him in there?

Loading editor
• It would make sense that they find Louis, but I hope that Harry is still alive by some bizarre unrealistic miracle.

Loading editor
• At the start of Texas' profile, I left 'Texas Savage (née Longford)' at the start of her profile, because although she isn't credited as Texas Savage, her legal name became Texas Savage after she married Will, and on their biographies should be their legal name and not their credited name.

Loading editor
• Was it ever mentioned if Texas actually took Will's surname? Because normally if the character take the spouse's surname, that's how they are credited - Maxine Minniver was credited as Maxine Kinsella after marrying Damon.

Regarding Wes, Breda would probably be a suspect as she worked for Wes and adopted Sylver immediately after his death. And if she is revealed to have killed the other 8 characters, she'd probably become the main suspect.

Loading editor
• I don't think it was mentioned whether Texas took Will's surname or not. You are probably right to leave it as 'Texas Longford' and not 'Texas Savage (nee Longford)', because on Emmerdale wikia, Gennie Walker was never mentioned to have or have not taken Nikhil's surname, but was still credited as Gennie Walker and not Gennie Sharma.

With regards to Wes and Breda, I doubt that his body was hidden too, because I reckon it would make Breda's storyline too complicated. I reckon and hope that it will just be Louis' body that will be discovered.

Also, I still don't get why Breda would hide Harry's body if she did kill him. I can understand why she would bury Louis' body, because Breda killed him at her own farm, so she could hardly leave the body in the village and wait for it to be discovered as that would be too risky. But she didn't hide any of the other villagers bodies who were all murdered in the village like Carl, Glenn, Russ or Mac, so why would she hide Harry's, it doesn't make sense.

Whether Harry is dead or alive, I am literally 50-50 completely, because half the time I think he's alive, and then I think he's definitely dead. It's totally confusing?!

Loading editor
• I think it could be more that is was riskier to move their bodies. Carl was being chased by several people when she killed him, Glenn was in The Dog in The Pond when he died, Russ was found by Mercedes shortly after I think, and wasn't Breda interrupted when she killed Mac?

Loading editor
• I've just checked the episodes and you were right about Carl and Glenn. But with Russ, Breda was talking to Sylver by the pond when they heard Mercedes screaming, so Breda had enough time to hide/bury Russ' body if she wanted to. With regards to Mac, Breda wasn't interrupted when she killed Mac, because she had already left when Romeo broke into the house. So, it doesn't make sense why Breda would leave Russ and Mac to be found, but hide/ bury Harry's body if she killed him in the village, unless she didn't actually kill him.

Loading editor
• Yes, that's what I was thinking... I guess she could have left Mac to show the Nightingales that they were free of him, but Russ I don't understand either...

Loading editor
• I understand why with Russ, because I think that Breda only hides/buries the bodies of the victims if there is evidence of her being involved in the murder. So, going through all of Breda's murders, but excluding Wes' murder, because we don't know much about it. Breda would only hide/bury bodies of victims if there was evidence on the body that incriminated her, so she didn't hide Vinnie's, Carl's, Glenn's, Russ' or Mac's bodies, because she didn't need to. However, Louis died on Breda's farm, so there is evidence all over him that links his death to Breda, and she could hardly move his body back to the village. This only leaves Harry's death to be suspicious, because why would she hide his body, he died in the village, and Breda was wearing gloves, so why hide his body, unless there was no dead body to hide...

Loading editor
• I agree - unless Breda knew how much it would hurt Tony and potentially destroy the family. She is much more closer to them so she'd care for them more and hiding Harry's body would allow her to convince them that he fled the village.

Loading editor
• Also one thing you may want to know - I've added a line in the Wikia code which means that images of all sizes should fit in the infoboxes perfectly (on computer version, there used to be black borders between the image and the infobox outline. However, the code should automatically resize the images to fit the infoboxes. Please let me know if you see any images that don't appear to fit the infoboxes.

Loading editor
• I'll let you know if I see any images that don't fit the infoboxes.

Also, if Breda cared about the Hutchinson's if she got close to them, then why not hide Russ' body too. Russ is actually part of the McQueen family, and she could have easily made it look like he did a runner. Especially after finding about Mercedes and Sylver's one night stand, and everyone finding out about Russ getting Goldie pregnant and suggesting to her to get an abortion. She had the opportunity to move his body, so there was nothing stopping her from doing that. I reckon it would only make sense if Breda covered her own back if the bodies incriminated her, because it was clear that Breda thought the Hutchinson's would've been better off without Harry, so I think she would've definitely left the body to be found. Also, if Breda chose whose body to leave to be found, and whose body to hide/bury out of guilt, then it would make her storyline more complicated than it needs to be.

Harry was only a father for a matter of days, so he was hardly a bad dad. Also, towards the end of his life, he pleaded with Breda to help him, so maybe she gave him a second chance to prove that he could be a good dad.

Loading editor
• Yes, and this is all why I'm not convinced he's actually dead. We were all right about Joe being alive in Emmerdale so hopefully the case is the same here.

• In the DigitalSpy spoilers, it looks that Breda speaks to Joel in the confession box about Mercedes and Liam's affair. They also reveal that Breda ends up finding Joel and Goldie together straight after. So confessing the murders to Joel isn't a possible motive for potentially killing him, but finding him sleeping with Goldie is.

Loading editor
• I knew that already. I just hope that Goldie doesn't leave Breda alone with Joel. I hope that Liam dies and not Joel. Maybe neither die, and their death is faked like Harry's, but is revealed later in a shock cliffhanger.

It would actually be cool if Joel died, and both Joel and Harry's deaths were revealed later to be fake, and Breda was keeping them locked and teaching them how to be good dad's and priests. It would be so messed up, but so fascinating at the same time. It would be like some compulsory twisted bible camp.

• If you were the executive producer of Hollyoaks, which character from the noughties would you ask to come back from the dead?

Also, maybe Parry actually has left, and his death will be like Louise Summer's, because they killed her off, but they recorded a scene of her revealed to be alive, in case they ever wanted her to return. They actually offered her to return in 2012, but she declined, because she was too busy.

• They could always bring Louise back if they've still got the scene. The body Warren showed Mitzeee could have been of someone else.

I'd quite like the Burton twins to return - either them, Joe Spencer or Sam Owen (good character before he turned bad). Actuall, maybe Lewis Richardson. It'd be interesting to see him and Tony (maybe with Rory Finnigan, Carol Groves and Ruth Osborne again) - although it'd be impossible with his death.

But then again, I'm glad that some of them are dead, because it makes the show brilliant, because without death the show can't grow, change or develop. The show needs game-changing deaths. Out of all of them, I would only ressurect 10 people: Becca Dean, Tina Reilly, Louise Summers, Rebecca Massey, Texas Longford, Clare Devine, Neeta Kaur, Nico Blake, Tegan Lomax and Harry Thompson.

• If you could do the "classic" Hollyoaks return and kill, who would be your choice/s?

Loading editor
• I don't really know, that's difficult. I can understand why Kirkwood does it. It is because they want to kill off a character that has enough history with the show to create an emotional exit, but they want to kill someone off that doesn't really provide much value to the show in its current form. I don't really know who I would choose to be honest. How about you, who would you choose?

Loading editor
• Darcy would definitiely be my first pick. I didn't watch the show much at all during the time she was on but from what I have seen and read, I'd want her to go. Plus, they could bring Toby back and have him close to Curtis (in the very little scenes he has)

Loading editor
• That's actually a good decision.

Also, did you know that Louise Summers "death" was only meant to be for three months, and she intended on returning three months after her fake death but simply decided not to.

Loading editor
• I didn't know that - I added the info about scenes revealing Louise to be alive filmed to be used when she returns after finding a news interview with her, whilst Kevin added the part about her return as Warren's "killer". Would have been fantastic if she had accepted.

If I was producer, I'd bring Louise back after Warren's return in the new year. I'd also introduce her sister, and cast Louise Marwood in the role. Louise would continue with her plan to get revenge on Warren, secretly destroying Warren and Sienna's relationship but getting Sienna the twins back. Louise would supposedly kill Warren and go on the run immediately after, unaware that Warren has survived. Louise's sister would get along well with Liberty, and remain in the village following Louise's departure.

Loading editor
• Wow, that is actually a brilliant storyline idea. But, it would be cooler to keep Louise Summers in the village, because we need some old blood back in the village, because she would have so much to offer to the show on a long-term basis. However, if Roxanne was only prepared to return on a short term basis, then that would be a good exit too. The casting idea of Louise Marwood was totally genius and perfection. I miss Chrissie, and to see her playing a new role would be awesome!

Loading editor
• Roxanne hasn't seemed keen on returning full-time in the past so this would be if she would be up for a brief return. I was watching an old clip with Chrissie in it and thought of how similarly she looked to Louise and how great it would be to see her in something again.

• You're probably right, but I would definitely offer her to stay long-term but if declined I would offer her to stay short term.

• I'd like to do something in film/television. • My dream is to be a story producer for Hollyoaks. I've been trying for the past year and a bit, and so far nothing has worked. I've tried applying for job vaccines, work experience, internship, and I'm going to reapply for an internship again, but this time I'm gonna ask for feedback from my lecturers about my storyline so that it might improve my chances.

Actually, if you don't mind me asking, would you mind giving me some feedback on my storyline idea that I sent as part of my assesment material for when I applied for an internship for Hollyoaks?

Loading editor
• That's great! You seem to have great knowledge of the soap's characters and are enthusiastic about them so surely you'd be what they would want in a story producer.

Sure - I'd love to give you feedback on your story idea!

Loading editor
• To be honest, my knowledge of Hollyoaks isn't as good as I want it to be, because I only started watching it in 2017, then got completely addicted. Since then, I've been watching old episodes on soap share, and I haven't seen many clips of episodes prior to October 2011. However, I have seen clips of Hollyoaks moments on YouTube between 2006-2011, particularly Niall Rafferty's storyline.

With regards to my storyline idea, initially I was considering writing a dramatic storyline involving resurrecting characters and serial killers. But then I thought that the best storylines tend to be issue-based storylines like Lily's self-harming (Hollyoaks), Aaron's rape (Emmerdale), Aidan's suicide (Coronation Street), etc. Therefore, I decided to write a storyline about mental health.

It was difficult to decide what to write about, because mental health is such a sensitive project, and these storylines need to researched properly, so that the story appears accurate. So, I decided to write a storyline about anxiety and depression, because I've got it myself, and it's something that I can go into detail about.

Storyline Idea: Sally’s Depression

Chosen Characters

1. Sally St. Claire

2. Marlena “Nana” McQueen

3. Mercedes McQueen

The Plot

This storyline begins with Sally being dismissed as headteacher of Hollyoaks High, causing her to break down into tears, and continuing to sob over the following weeks. She then decides to not let this break her self-esteem, and so she searches for other work positions in the educational sector, with no such luck due to her dismissal.

A few weeks later, Nana starts to realise how downhearted Sally has become. She assumes that Sally losing her job has made her feel purposeless. So, she decides to speak to Mercedes in an attempt to convince her to offer Sally a job as a barmaid at The Dog in the Pond. Unfortunately, Mercedes initially declines due to the fact that they aren’t looking to hire anyone, as well as that, she deems Sally as not being “barmaid material”. However, Nana insists and reminds her that Sally is as good as family and that she deserves a chance to prove herself. Mercedes eventually gives in and decides to give her a job as a barmaid on a week’s trial basis. Later in the day, Nana finds Sally at the McQueen house lying on her bed. She asks Sally what she is doing cooped-up in her bedroom. Sally puts on a smile and lies to her by stating that she was just tired after going to many interviews. Nana informs her that she managed to get her a job at the pub. Sally acts optimistic about the idea, jokes about the idea of her being a barmaid, then accepts that she will give being a barmaid a chance. However, when Nana leaves the room, Sally closes the curtains and sits alone in the dark.

During her trial period, she manages to avoid enough negative attention from Mercedes. This leads to Mercedes offering her a full-time position as a barmaid. Sally acts pleased and accepts her offer. However, during her time as a barmaid her mental health continues to deteriorate further over the coming months. She would spend her breaks in the pub toilets quietly sobbing to herself. As well as that, she struggles to sleep and has panic attacks at night as soon as she turns off the lights.

Months into the storyline, Nana notices a change in Sally’s behaviour, and confronts her about how she is feeling. Sally insists that she is fine, and just hasn’t been getting much sleep lately. Nana then leaves her alone and assumes that everything is fine. However, as Nana leaves the room, Sally finds herself unable to cry any longer, and starts developing feelings of hollowness and numbness. Over the following weeks, Sally continues to spend her breaks in the pub toilets. However, instead of crying, she would just stare at the mirror with no emotion, and think about how isolated and trapped she feels. This is because, she is despairing in silence and is too proud to say how she is really feeling.

One evening, Sally bravely decides to confide in Nana of her own accord, as she realises that she cannot suppress her feelings any longer. Nana simply listens as Sally tells her story: Sally talks about how these feelings were triggered by losing the one job that gave her purpose in life. Despite this, she believes that these feelings must have been building up over-time. It started in 2017, when John Paul left the village, and when she lost her best friend Neeta. Then in 2018, when she found out on her wedding day that Myra had cheated on her, which led to them splitting up and Myra leaving the village. Nana is concerned about Sally and questions whether she may be suicidal. However, Sally insists that she isn’t, but states that she wishes she was, because at least then she would feel as though there was a way out. Sally begins to cry for the first time in a long while, which is when Nana comforts her in her arms.

Why I Chose This Storyline?

I chose to do a storyline about mental health. This is because by doing so, you are allowing the audience to understand what depression is. This is done by raising awareness to the fact that it is not a state of mind and that it is a serious illness. This storyline is a different take on what mental health can be. This is because, compared to previous storylines in soap operas relating to mental health, this focuses on depression itself, and not just how it links to OCD, self-harming or suicide.

I decided that Sally would be the best person to be at the forefront of a storyline like this, because she is a head-strong character. This is the case, because she has already faced adversity in her past with being transgender. But, as well as that, she is a headteacher that has had to maintain a professional mindset and not let her emotions compromise her position. For example: in 2017, she dismissed her best friend Neeta as a teaching assistant for having an inappropriate relationship with a pupil. This idea would be suitable for a character like her, because it is important to show that depression can happen to anyone, no matter how strong a person you are.

• It's a good storyline to do. I think Sally is a great choice for the character and Annie Wallace could certainly do well with her performances with this storyline. To be completely honest, it feels like it's missing something to make this a "Hollyoaks" storyline. Coronation Street did a depression storyline with Steve back in 2014. Steve became depressed after his split from Michelle, and began neglecting his duties as a father - sleeping in and forgetting to take/pick up Amy from school. I can't exactly remember what happened after that because it was four years ago, but he ended up going to the doctors where he was diagnosed with depression, and I think he refused to accept it until he was involved in a minibus accident in January 2015, which caused him to be rejected by everyone. He told Michelle about his diagnosis and they reconciled.

Loading editor
• I think I get what you mean when you say that something is missing. Do you mean that something shocking needs to happen that persuades Sally to confide in Nana like the minibus accident with Steve. Because I was hoping to go for a more honest angle like when Aaron confided in Chas about his rape after Chas spent the day with him making him feel loved. But, if that is what you were referring to, then I agree with you, because something else needs to happen that encourages Sally to confide in Nana.

Loading editor
• Yes, I think if you included some big moment that makes Sally either realise that she has depression or pushes her to speak to someone. Like with Aaron's self-harm, back in 2011 Chas discovered Aaron was harming himself after he collapsed and she found blood on his shirt. In 2016, Robert discovered Aaron had a relapse and collapsed after his cuts became septic. With Laurel's storyline, it was after she ran over Marlon's dog and almost blinded him by attacking him, with Marlon realising that he couldn't cope any longer. I guess with the rape storylines (Rhona, Lisa, Chas, Aaron, Charity etc) it's that the actual rape/revelation is the shocking moment, followed by the trial.

• There is less than 2 weeks and 2 days until we definitely know whose body is in the lake, and who Breda's next victim is... I've got to say I've never been so excited about Hollyoaks before. I just hope that the outcome is the right one, because if it isn't then this storyline is a massive flop.

Loading editor
• Hollyoaks is always exciting. I love Sami and Sinead together and the far-right extremism storyline is such a good storyline, in the way they've raised awareness and also making it very un-glamorised in the way Ste is losing his friends, family and could be soon losing his children.

• Another weird thing that I have noticed about Harry's death is that Breda usually gives the kids of the victims a teddy bear she made herself, but in this case, it looks like it was bought from a shop. And although Harry did have white shirt buttons, usually she only takes one button and adds it to the bears shirt, but the teddy bear has two white buttons on its shirt which don't look like they've been sewed on by hand. The only form of customisation Breda seems to have added to the teddy bear is words on the back of the teddy's shirt stating "God is Love".

Also, Breda only has second thoughts about killing someone if their bad deed isn't too bad. Like Wes and Vinnie (they were abusive to their own children), Carl (he kidnapped his grandchild), Glenn and Mac (they were both capable of murdering their own children), Russ (he got Breda's daughter to have an abortion - which is too close to home for Breda and she probably sees abortion as "killing a little kiddie"). But with Louis, he was cheating on his wife, which is a lot lighter compared to the other deeds, and Harry attempted to go on the run for something he didn't do but then changed his mind, which is the least bad thing of them all. So, Breda couldn't have killed him, because if she gave Louis a second chance, then she definitely would've given Harry one too, in order for the story to make sense.

Man, this storyline is driving me mad, because his death is made to look so authentic it is unreal, but there are so many things that point to him not being dead. There is no way he could be dead, there would be way too many inconsistencies with this storyline if he were dead.

Also, Breda found out about Joel and Goldie's affair after she caught them in bed together. This makes me think Liam is Breda's next victim, because Breda normally kills successfully after discovering a motive at the last minute, so that the viewers get a shock as to who her next victim is, e.g. Carl was killed the same episode he tried to kidnap Bobby, Glenn was killed the same episode Breda found out about him killing his son, Russ was killed on his wedding day when Breda found out about Russ getting Goldie to have an abortion, etc. The producers' write it that way so that her next victim isn't too obvious when it happens, but Breda isn't going to kill until the sixth week of summer, which is between 26-30 August, and besides Breda caught Joel and Goldie in bed together and went absolutely mad, so if she did kill him, then she would be the prime suspect, and his death would be too obvious. Also, Bobby saw Liam and Mercedes making out, so I reckon Bobby might confide in Breda later on down the line and then kill Liam. Also, in today's episode, Mercedes told Liam that Breda is psychotic because of the way she was behaving towards her, and Liam said that "nah, she's just a little old woman". So, that reference makes me think that he's about to find out what she is really like sometime soon.

However, Rory (who plays Joel) and Nadine (who plays Cleo) are leaving for maternity and paternity leave, so maybe they might decide to kill one and let the other leave. I wouldn't put it past Kirkwood to do that. That is the main reason why I am worried for Joel, especially considering we see Joel in the summer trailer in the McQueen house with his shirt unbuttoned and then Breda about to hit someone with a mallet in the same house, and neither of those scenes have been aired yet, so that's what makes me worried that it could still be him.

There have been many McQueen's throughout the years, but if you had to choose 10 adult characters (young ones under 16 come free with their parents), which McQueen's would be in still in the show now. You can even choose characters whose actors/actresses quit the show forever of their own accord.

If I had to choose, I would pick Cleo, Goldie, Hunter, Jacqui, John Paul (+ Matthew), Myra (+ Carmina), Nana, Mercedes (+ Bobby), Phoebe & Tina (+ Max).

• That's really put my mind at ease, cheers XD! So, anyway if you had to choose 10 members of the McQueen family to keep in the show (kids under 16 come free with their parents), who would you choose?

Loading editor
• Jacqui, Carmel, Bart, JP, Myra, Nana, Niall... Can't think of 3 others off the top of my head.

Body can't be Joel or Harry unless Breda kills in the Friday episode as as Jack finds a body Mon Aug 19.

Loading editor
• Actually it's not even Monday's episode that the body is found, because it says these scenes will air on Monday 19 August 2019 at 18:30, which means that it isn't referring to first look Hollyoaks, which is what I watch, so technically another body is found in today's episode of first look Hollyoaks.

Also, I've included all of the seen/unseen McQueen family characters that have pages into the 'McQueen family' category, and deleted the 'McQueen Family' category and any pages links to that page.

Loading editor
• Hopefully it's also revealed in that episode the identity of the body.

Great work with the categories.

Loading editor
• I doubt it. I reckon Goldie will say "Is that a body?" like she said in the summer trailer, and then the credits will run, because I doubt they will let a massive moment like that come anywhere else in the episode other than the end of the show.

Also, no worries, I was intrigued to find out how many members of the McQueen family there were, so I thought if I sorted out the categories, then I would find out.

Yes, especially on the Friday episode.

• agreed!

• All of Joel and Breda's scenes seen in the trailer have aired. Breda hit Joel with a book after realising that his and Goldie's affair wasn't over. He might be dead! I hope he isn't though. Also, a body was found in the lake, so I hope that it is Louis' body and not Harry's.

Loading editor
• I think and hope it's Louis's.

Loading editor
• You and me both. Also, thank god Breda only hit Joel with a bible, because it looked like a mallet in the trailer. It is less likely that he will die from being hit with a book. Besides, with the discovery of the body in the lake, Breda won't have much time to finish the job I hope.

Also, did you know that Ste is leaving Hollyoaks temporarily between November 2019 - March 2020. Hopefully it will conclude with him being in prison for a racist crime during that time period.

Loading editor
• This is why I love Hollyoaks. You can actually analyse the episodes and go in depth with thoughts, unlike the other soaps. Like how Breda hit Joel with a bible, due to him breaking the "rules" (apologies, I don't know the correct term) of his religion.

I also hope that Ste will be imprisoned. Ste was a good character to choose for the storyline due to his past, past stories and duration on the show. However, I don't like him very much after all he did to Amy and now this. If they don't have Ste sent down, and everyone just forgive him, then it'll definitiely send out the wrong message.

Loading editor
• Ste has crossed the line too many times with this far-right and definitely needs a comeuppance. So, 5/6 months in prison will be good. I know that it's not enough time in prison for what he's done, but it's very easy to forgive soap characters. I just hope that after he gets out of prison (hoping that he does go to prison that is), that all of his family will be finding it very hard to forgive him, and I hope that after he returns to Hollyoaks, it will take months to forgive him before they can accept him again. And one all-mighty apology to Misbah and a thanks to her for trying to save his sister would be the cherry on top, because without Misbah, Tegan wouldn't have even made it to the hospital.

Also, even if Harry does die in the story, which I highly doubt. You know how he's doing a theatre production tour in spring 2020 (between March-April 2020). I've purchased a ticket to go and see the show, because I think it'll be intriguing to see Parry do something more theatrical.

I agree. They should have him serve a sentence in prison, but the real sentence is when he is released and has to try make amends for what he has done. I think Misbah will be the first to forgive Ste, although she may struggle to really forgive him at first.

I didn't know that - hope you enjoy it! It's interesting seeing Hollyoaks actors performing on stage instead of on a screen. Alex Carter (Lee Hunter) was in The Catherine Tate Show last year when it toured in New Zealand and it was strange seeing him "in person" rather than on-screen.

Loading editor
• I'm glad Breda came to her senses. If she cared for Goldie she would at least feign happiness for her and not murder her boyfriend. I'm glad the body is Louis's - as I had told everyone the whole time. It was pretty obvious with Leela's scene in the trailer.

I want her to go down for Wes, Vinnie and Mac. Not Harry though, because I have complete confirmation to the fact that he is alive without any reasonable doubt in mind. Also, I don't want Breda to get away with letting Harriet, Sylver and Donna Marie taking the blame for her crimes.

Season 2 was a great season. I loved the scenes with Carmel in the police station and then how she gave her lawyer all the credit and dragged him with her and Jacqui on their adventure. The Ashworth's story got a bit boring, I thought.

• I have been looking through all 8 of Breda's murders, and I have come up with a bizarre, complicated, and possibly racist theory, involving Breda's dolls. This theory is likely to be over-thought and completely false.

She has claimed 8 victims so far, which are Wes, Vinnie, Carl, Glenn, Russ, Louis, Mac and Harry. Breda hasn't been seen to have given dolls to Goldie for Vinnie's murder (because it was off-screen) nor to Juliet for Mac's murder (because she only gives dolls to young children and Juliet is over 16 years old). This leaves Wes, Carl, Glenn, Russ, Louis and Harry.
Breda only has white dolls, so she can only make homemade dolls for the white murder victims

My theory is that Breda can only give children homemade dolls if her murder victim is white, as she only owns white dolls, as seen in her drawer up at Breda's farm prior to Louis' murder.

Breda's Homemade Dolls
Therefore, she can give dolls to the children for Wes, Carl, Glenn, Russ and Harry's murders.

But for Louis' murder, she could only give Daniel a teddy bear. But for Harry's murder, she gave Isaac a teddy bear too, but unlike Daniel's teddy bear it said 'God is Love', which might mean that she didn't kill Harry possibly and she just wanted to give Isaac a gift. Also, when Breda gave Daniel the bear, she said to him "We can all do without your bad daddy.", but when she gave Isaac the bear, all she said to him was "Yeah, I got you a little friend."

• No, I just made an assumption, which might not be a good idea. He must be named either Thompson/Cressington. But, child actors never get credits at an early age. Also, I don't think that the stitching was engraved on Daniel's bear, which is kinda weird.

Loading editor
• I guess we could. It'd be better than naming the page "Isaac", or we may never know if he is Thompson, Cressington, Thompson-Cressington or Cressington-Thompson, and therefore the page would never be created. I could try ask but the team probably haven't decided.

• You're probably right. Hollyoaks is great at being one of the few, if not only, soap/s to hype big events and continue to amaze.

• I watch all 4 soap operas.

My fourth favourite is Coronation Street, because they have great storylines, lots of history in the characters that make them so iconic, and it has got a traditional vibe about it that is rather awesome. But, compared to the others, it can be a bit boring.

My third favourite is EastEnders, because it has so much going for them, some may even call it the perfect soap. The only negatives I would say about EastEnders is that it is not explosive or outrageous, and there aren't any particular characters that I completely and utterly adore to death.

My second favourite is Emmerdale, because of Robron which got me absolutely hooked, they're storylines are what made them my favourite soap at one point, and it basically encouraged me to watch Hollyoaks and Coronation Street too. There are so many characters that I love in Emmerdale like Kim Tate, Matty Barton, Chas Dingle, Emma Barton, etc. and that's why I love it so much. However, like EastEnders and Coronation Street, there is no explosive-ness or outrageous-ness.

My favourite soap is obviously Hollyoaks. My favourite character in any story of all-time has got to be Neeta Kaur, with Hunter McQueen in the top 5, for sure. It is very fast moving, the hype, the explosive-ness, and everything, It never ends! It is like a mad rollercoaster that never stops, and it is unbelieveably addictive. There are too many characters and storylines to love, to appreciate, and that cause controversy and divide the audience.

• There's been points when I've watched all four of these shows. I've watched Emmerdale and Corrie the longest, but couldn't get into EastEnders. Emmerdale used to be my #1 and Corrie my #2, but now Hollyoaks is my #1 favourite, and has pushed ED and CS down my list.

Emmerdale used to be my favourite because it was a "good" dramatic. It's also got a very eventful history with some great moments in the 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s. However, the show (for me) seems to have had a lack in great producers (except for Kate Oates at certain points) since 2009. I found the show boring during Gavin Blyth (who made some massive mistakes) and Stuart Blackburn (who barely did anything)'s reigns, but it picked up during Kate Oates. Iain MacLeod was OK at times but most of the time the stories were a load of crap. Kate Brooks was great with the ending to the Lachlan storyline, Bails's trial and Charity meeting her long-lost father in years), however the show has become a pile of crap - scrap that, a pile of crap could write better stories imo - upon the beginning of Laura Shaw and Jane Hudson (who was made out to be the best producer since the likes of Kathleen Beedles and Nicholas Prosser, but clearly didn't live up to that) to the point where I switched off after watching the show basically non-stop since a little kid.

My other problem with Emmerdale too is that, aside from the atrocious storylines (the Lee one is a disgrace and everyone who worked on it should be ashamed), there's a lot of dead wood regarding characters. None of them really seem to actually work well together as they did back in the 90s and 00s - like how Nicola had feuds with pretty much everyone. They've ruined characters like Matty and Victoria, and have some awful ones like Bear.

Meanwhile, I have no complaints with Hollyoaks. I love and hate all the characters you're supposed to. All the storylines are great - they definitely deserved best soap this year and it hasn't been long since I started watching the show again.

• Yep, Tony is "dead". I don't believe it for a single second. But, it makes me believe that Harry is dead, which is absolutely pathetic, because I doubt they would ressurect 2 characters from the dead. But, I don't understand how Harry can be dead either though. They better both still be alive, because otherwise Kirkwood has COMPLETELY LOST THE PLOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Loading editor
• I don't believe it either. Tony "finding" Harry in the "afterlife" could foreshadow Tony finding him alive because, after all, as you say, you wouldn't expect two characters brought back from the dead. Breda didn't seem all that convincing when she said that she had killed Harry. Plus, he would have known that people would boycott the show if Tony was killed off. There's several posts on Facebook and tweets on Twitter of people threatening to turn off if Tony is dead. Also, Tony has a storyline coming up next year with the return of his dad (who actually has been mentioned as Brian several times in at least the 90s and 00s - not Edward) and Digital Spy (who usually gets their spoilers direct from the soaps, often interviews the teams etc) said that they haven't had it confirmed whether or not Tony is dead or alive, and usually they're one of the first to know (and tease everyone that they know but aren't saying anything).

Loading editor
• Harry's death seems totally confirmed though. But, how can he be dead, it doesn't make any sense?! For the first time ever, Hollyoaks has left me 100% speechless.

Loading editor
• Now that I think about it, there's every chance that Harry could be dead. When Ben Littler decided to leave the role of Max Cunningham in 2008, Max was killed off despite having appeared since 1995. He was a massive character yet he was still killed off instead of there being a possiblity that he could return. I don't even think it was the actor's choice either.

Loading editor
• But with Matt Littler, I'm pretty sure that he wanted to quit for good, and there is no way that Max would abandon Tom, so I don't think there was much choice in the matter, and I'm pretty sure it was the same with Carley Stenson (Steph Cunningham) and Helen Pearson (Frankie Osborne). But, Parry didn't quit, but apparently was thinking about possibly leaving at some point in that year anyway, but if he did leave, he was hoping the door would be open so that he could come back.

Harry being killed-off is the worst move Kirkwood could make, because he is the most popular and well-known child of the longest-serving character, and he is at the centre of LGBT relationships at the moment with both Starry and Jarry who have got to be one of the most competitive LGBT love ships Hollyoaks has ever had.

Also, when a major character dies, they tend to give the audience confirmation, so that everyone knows there is no going back, e.g. Max died with many people around him to check that he was dead and his eyes were fixed, Steph walked back into a fire and was already dying of cervical cancer, Frankie had a stroke and was checked over by Paramedics, unlike Harry's "death" whereby he was stabbed alone in an alleyway and then his body just stopped moving which could have been for a number of reasons as opposed to him just being dead.

Also, why not show Breda putting him into a body bag after he had died, or Harry's body in a body bag before closing the boot of the car. It is poorly written if a major character like Harry Thompson doesn't get instant confirmation of his death and then later on in over months time is confirmed to be dead on-screen when they show his body, because you are leading the audience to believe that he is alive and then when you find out he is not, the story has a serious come down.

At the moment, only people who would read spoilers and interviews on Hollyoaks would know for sure that Harry is dead, because Breda has not even said that she killed him or that he is dead, and we haven't even seen his body, and why the hell would she move his body unnecessarily. It doesn't make sense because Hollyoaks are so authentic about detail, and wouldn't make a cock up like that. But, then again his death seems so confirmed.

Loading editor
• I guess you are correct, but Kirkwood could have probably axed Tom if he felt that way. Either that, or he could have had Max get given an opportunity he couldn't turn down, but Tom wanted to stay in the village so Max arranged for him to stay with Steph, keeping in contact with Tom through video calls and text messages. This would have also allowed Littler to return for guest appearances or change his mind if he did decide that he wanted to return.

However, I wonder if his death is a reference to how Angela, Cindy, Mandy and Jude are the only members of the Cunningham/Richardson family still alive. Gordon, Helen, Dennis, Lewis and Dawn had all died before Max.

One more thing - do you think we should class Tony as deceased, as, although it's suspicious and I'm 99.9% sure that they'll bring him back from the dead, this is what the show wants us to believe and therefore the wiki has the responsibility to reflect that?

Slightly off topic, but I think Ian Kelsey (Dave Glover in Emmerdale, Vinny in Corrie) should have played the role of Damon's father Buster Smith. He appears to look quite similar to Jacob Roberts.

Loading editor
• Maybe you are right, they could've kept Max, but then again, this is Kirkwood we're talking about and he loves an extreme soap death. But, one other thing I know about him is that, if he kills off a major character, he wants to make sure the audience has no doubt in their death, which is why I definitely think that Tony and Harry are both still alive. You don't kill off a major character, and deny the audience instant confirmation of their death unless their death is faked.

Also, yes Tony should be in the deceased category, because we have to create this wikia on what we see on-screen as opposed to personal opinions, despite how undeniably obvious they may be.

With regards to Ian Kelsey playing Buster Smith, I agree on the fact that they look similar, but I don't think he could've portrayed Buster as well as Nathan Sussex did.

Also, I see Tony Hutchinson's death has been listed as unconfirmed, but if that is the case, then shouldn't Harry's be unconfirmed too, because Breda never said that she killed Harry or Tony, or that either of them are dead. Also, neither of their bodies have been seen since episodes following their "death" episodes. Therefore, on-screen-wise their deaths are equally as unconfirmed as each other.

• Can't wait, I've never seen Hollyoaks Later on the big screen, because I only started watching it in 2017, so this will be a real treat. I think it's the perfect way to end her storyline. It's just such a shame Kirkwood killed-off Harry, but at least her exit storyline will be beyond explosive.

• The late night specials, spin-offs and HO Later are fantastic. It's violent, gruesome but it'll be interesting to see if there's a sex scene in this one or if it will break the tradition...

Kirkwood also said in another interview that if this does well then they'll heavily consider a HO: Later return.

Loading editor
• So that's Harry's death 110% confirmed then...

Going over the list of deaths, there's quite a few characters that were mistakes to kill off in my opinion:

• Stan and Ollie back in 1997, Lewis in 2001 and Mr C in 2004 (all axed by producer Jo Hallows)
• The Burton twins & Joe in 2006, Becca in 2007 and Max in 2008 (killed off by Bryan Kirkwood)
• Calvin in 2010 (killed off by either Paul Marquess or Lucy Allan)
• Steph and Malachy in 2010 (by Paul Marquess)
• Rhys in 2012 (by Emma Smithwick and Kirkwood)
• Callum and Clare in 2013, Carmel in 2014, Joe in 2016, Amy in 2017 (probably the death that annoys me most) and Russ in 2018. I also think Mac and Carl deserved better deaths. Carl shouldn't have even returned and Mac's death should have been something more to do with James and the Nightingales. Imagine if they had killed him off by having James push him out of the window - same death as Nathan and Mac tried to goad James into doing it a few years ago (before Ellie pushed him through the window instead).

• I knew Harry's death was confirmed as soon as I saw the autumn trailer. It's an incredible storyline, and it is sooooo fitting and it weirdly feels so perfect and so right, and like the show is in their ultimate prime, but so would killing off Tony or Mercedes. It's easy to kill-off a character, and it is the best thing that could ever happen in the short-term scheme of things, but in the long-term it just leaves a massive hole in the show that won't be filled.

I think that the only bad decisions were (ones in bold are the worst mistakes of each decade):

1990s: Lee & Ollie (1997), Dawn (1997) & Kurt (1999).

2000s: Lewis (2001), Gordon (2004), Helen (2004), Becca (2007), Max (2008) & Louise (2008).

2010s: Steph (2010), Rebecca (2011), Riley (2012), Rhys (2012), Clare (2013), Phoebe (2015), Bart (2017), Neeta (2017), Nico (2018) & Harry (2019).

I think that killing off major characters is sometimes the best thing to do, but that is dependent on whether the actor/actress ever wants to return, how popular the character is, and whether their death is something that is going to be looked back on as one of Hollyoaks' proudest achievements.

However, I really wish that they didn't kill off too many characters that were in the early episodes of Hollyoaks, because they make the history of the show, so killing people like Dawn, Ollie, and Max off is the worst thing they could have done for the show, especially Max, because his exit storyline wasn't that special, as it was just pure and unnecessary shock value, and probably the biggest mistake they've ever made.

However, Steph's exit storyline was beyond amazing, but because she was in the show for so long, and was such an iconic character, I still think it was a foolish move to kill her off.

I know this may be an unpopular opinion, but I think that Carmel's death was probably one of Hollyoaks' best moments, because despite the fact that she was a long-running character, she quit the show for good and didn't have any intention of coming back by the sounds of it, her death has got to be the most remembered and heartbreaking one, it COMPLETELY changed the game for the McQueen's and for the show, and you know that it is a good moment when you don't know someone who watches Hollyoaks' and doesn't know about the death of Carmel McQueen.

Loading editor
• Fortunately with Kurt, his death has never been properly confirmed. He died off-screen and Rob Hawthorne convinced everyone that he killed Kurt and was revealed to be lying. I don't even think Lucy or anyone else saw his body or anything.

With Dawn's death, I think the producers realised that they messed up her character by having the storyline where Jack & Dawn's affair in 1991 and the daughter that came as a result, and decided to kill her off instead.

Stan and Ollie were just unnecessary. They were a great comedy act. The producers probably didn't see any direction to take Ollie in and Stan wasn't as a major character as the Cunninghams, Bensons etc.

I think Lewis's death, although tackling a real life issue, was pretty poor in the way they changed his character all of a sudden and had him made out to be the bad guy.

I don't even understand why Gordon & Helen were killed off. Gordon was a fantastic character and provided great comedy. They had them reconcile after her affair with Tony and just... killed them off?? They had already killed off two of the four members of the Richardson family at that point.

Max's death, in my opinion, is the biggest mistake they've had yet. Having him play a very small role in Niall's storyline was quite poor and as you say, it felt like it was done more as a shock than anything else. In fact, I thought there was too much going on with the wedding episode as we had Max's heart problems before the wedding and then his death after.

I think I wouldn't have minded Carmel getting killed off so much if they had a "reconciliation" scene between her and Calvin, such as they did with Max, Dawn and Gordon.

Rhys's was a big mistake and Clare should definitely be brought back from the dead. However, I disagree about Nico. I think they should have left her in the past and not insult viewers by having her magically escape from the fire. It was a great death but also that we saw Nico trapped under the wood panel, which had caught alight, and that there's a small chance she realistically would have made it out alive.

One death I won't feel is a mistake is if they finally kill Breda off in that late night special. They always go full Brookside brutal (actually, more brutal than Brookside) in the late night specials. Luke's attack in Hollyoaks: Breaking Boundaries (2000), Toby's death in Hollyoaks: Leap of Faith (2003) and Steph almost drowning in Hollyoaks: In Too Deep (2005). then there were Niall, Sarah and especially Nathan's deaths in Hollyoaks: Later (2008, 2009 & 2010)

Loading editor
• Killing off Dawn was cowardly, they could've easily fixed her character. There are always bad storylines, but it is the producers' job to rectify their mistakes, not making it worse by getting rid of the problem.

I think that Nico's exit in 2016 was epic, and I wouldn't have said that her death was a mistake if she didn't come back in 2018. However, I do think that reintroducing her character was absolutely fantastic, and the whole storyline was just incredible, but her exit was poor, and I reckon they should've let her character escape or be imprisoned, then she could return again in the most epic storyline ever. Her death storyline could involve Sienna and Nico on the top of a cliff and then she tragically falls, similar to Niall's but with a different twist on it.

With regards to the death of Amy Barnes, it was both stupid and amazing, because her death storyline was probably one of the gripping things I have ever seen on Hollyoaks, as it reminded me sooooo much of Lucy Beale's death in EastEnders. Her death completely changed the game for Hollyoaks, but then again, when her character was re-introduced in 2016, I would've loved for her character to be kept on a year or two before they killed her off, because she was an incredible, long-running character that had too much to offer that hadn't been seen yet.

Loading editor
• It's funny how Hollyoaks is easier to compare to drama series such as Grey's Anatomy through the method of storytelling, than other shows in the same genre such as Emmerdale and Coronation Street. There seems to be some form of complexity which leaves you sitting on the edge of your seat and allows you to get inside the minds of the characters, without actually having to force yourself to feel emotions towards the characters - something which Grey's often does and ED and CS don't.

I think it would have been fantastic (even award-winning) if they had a cliff-top fight with Nico and Leela. Nico is hanging on and pleading for help, but Leela tries to talk Sienna out of it. She's conflicted - she could stop people from suffering further, but Nico is still her daughter. Then as Sienna reaches out for Nico to grab her arm, Nico slips and falls.

The aftermath of Amy's storyline was fantastic. It was just done with the wrong character. Plus the motive was really weak and it almost felt like they changed the killer to be Ryan for shock - "he wouldn't kill his own wife! Would he?"

Loading editor
• In order for this "who killed ??" storyline to be effective, they needed to choose an important character that was at the centre of the show, someone who has been in the show a long time, a character the audience would care about enough to keep them watching.

This storyline wouldn't have been so amazing if it was "who killed Celine McQueen" or something like that, because Amy's death brought so many primary characters to the forefront of this epic storyline, like Tony, Ste, Harry, and the Barnes' family, and families including the Hutchinson's, the Lomax's, and the Barnes'. I don't think that any other whodunit storyline could have done that, because Amy was a much loved, long-running character that people cared about.

With the "who killed Lucy Beale" storyline in EastEnders, killing both Lucy and Amy off were bold moves that left a massive hole in the primary families of their shows. Although, I hate that massive hole that has been left since they were killed-off, I can't say that it was the wrong decision, because like Lucy's death, I will never ever forget that storyline. It was an extreme game-changer that was done to create one of it's most powerful storylines, which I think is understandable.

I wasn't too shocked that Ryan killed Amy, because like Laurie, I suspected that something wasn't right about him from his first appearance. Also, I doubt that Amy being his wife matters, since he was only with her to cover up the fact that he was gay. On top of that, there were multiple moments in the aftermath of Amy's death where Ryan acted really suspicious, even before he was revealed to be the killer, particularly the way he was skeptical towards Amy's exhumation.

• I agree and that's why I think the "Who Killed Lynsey" storyline took off, especially because it was unannounced. But I still think Amy wasn't the best choice. Her duration from 2005-2012 was why she was loved and they only used her for guest stints from 2013 to 2017 - almost a betrayal to the character as by 2017 she had become too serious of a character. It seems Kirkwood is a bit too eager for the grim reaper to come to the village, like as Andrew Moss (Rhys Ashworth) said, Rhys's death was unnecessary and not fitting for the character.

Loading editor
• Killing Rhys off was unnecessary, and the death was unoriginal. Also, Kirkwood wasn't in charge when Rhys was killed-off, he came back shortly after he was killed-off.

Loading editor
• Kirkwood was involved in the storyline for the bus crash - he's also credited as executive producer in the episodes.

Loading editor
• If he was responsible then he screwed up, because not only did he kill off an important character, but they ruined his character towards the end, and gave him a poor death storyline.

Loading editor
• I agree. Bringing him back for a 2014 storyline almost seemed like he tried to fix his mistakes a little. Although Kirkwood wasn't the only person to decide that Rhys should have been killed off, surely the three producers would have had to agree 100% at who to kill off.

• What's your opinion on the axing of these characters: Sarah Barnes (quit, but didn't have to be killed-off), Phoebe McQueen (quit, but didn't have to be killed-off), and Celine McQueen (producer's decision). I don't know whether killing off any of these characters was a right or wrong decision. I've tried listing all the pros and cons for each character, but it is difficult to know whether it was necessary or not.

With Sarah, she was a brilliant character, Loui quit the show of her own accord, and her death storyline was absolutely epic, and it was a one-of-a-kind storyline that needed to happen. However, Zoe quit the show at the same time as she did, and I preferred Sarah to live than Zoe. Having said that, if Zoe died would the storyline have been less fitting, less impressive, and not as epic.

With Phoebe, she was a McQueen but unlike the rest, she was a survivor, intelligent, and straight-talking, and gave the family an extra edge. Although, Mandip quit the role, she could've still come back to the show. Also, I felt like it was too soon to kill off another McQueen only 7 months after Carmel's legendary death. Her exit was absolutely heartbreaking, but was it worth killing her over, I don't know.

With Celine, she was a brilliant character that gave the show so much, and had more to give still. However, it gave Cameron's serial killer storyline that unexpected climax, and because she was his girlfriend, it may it all the more tragic. Also, it pushed Cleo's character into a darker direction, because she loses Celine and then at the funeral she loses Nathan, and the only person it seems she can turn to is Joel which develops their love story too. But then again, Celine was a great, great character, so I don't know.

Let me know what you think about the decisions to kill-off all 3 of them.

Loading editor
• I wonder if Loui had wanted to leave immediately whilst Zoe was willing to stay on the show for a little longer. I think it was both wrong timing for Loui to decide to quit during the planning of HO: Later, and that it seemed fitting for Sarah - the one final massive storyline for her character.

Phoebe, they could have easily had her live with Jacqui. I didn't actually like Phoebe all that much so I don't necessarily mind, but I think that was unnecessary and was just for shock factor - what was TGHK's motive for killing her?

Celine was also unnecessary. As you say, it changed Cleo's character but they could have had Celine leave the village and Cleo with the McQueens because she'd be happier with them, and it probably would have still changed her, but not so much.

I noticed that you removed Lynsey - her death was purely shock factor. Nothing else. Popular character, actress quit, let's shock everyone by killing her off in a whodunnit. And like Amy's, the motive was poor and you could tell that it was forced. I feel that a whodunnit doesn't work with a friendly, likable character - that's why Clare's worked and some of the Emmerdale ones too.

Loading editor
• I hated Clare's exit. Ridiculously iconic character; weak death. The legendary Clare Devine was run over by a car by another less iconic villain Paul Browning. Also, was Browning killing Lynsey ever made public to the village, or to Cheryl and Brendan?

Loading editor
• He confessed to Mercedes and she set him up and got him arrested. Presumably it all came out after that but I think he might have gotten off because there was the whole story with him, Jim, Mercedes & Clare in early 2013.

Clare's death is the shittiest death in the history of soap. They couldn't even be bothered to make it a proper stunt.

Loading editor
• How popular was Lynsey's character at the time, because I've only seen episodes with her in it. I haven't actually seen her full story. Was she viewed as primary character like Mercedes, or just another incredible character like Celine.

Loading editor
• She played a massive part in Silas's storyline and appeared in a majority of the scenes from late October to early November 2011. Silas told Lynsey that he was going to kill a woman but if she figured out who it was, he'd spare her. She ended up telling Doug who in turn told Ethan Scott. Silas ended up revealing that he had let Lynsey decide who the next victim was and enjoyed seeing her judge people poorly, before trying to kil her. She smashed a vase over his head and ran off. Then he struck a woman with a brick and strangled her, whom he believed was Lynsey, but turned out to be his daughter, Heidi Costello. Lynsey then visited Silas to try convince him to tell the police where Mercedes was, and she repeated something to Riley which lead to him finding Mercedes in the basement of The Dog in labour giving birth to Bobby. I'd say that was the point where she became a primary character rather than a minor-main like Celine.

• Cool.

• I knew Michael Parr appeared in Hollyoaks in 2012 but I had no idea it was as Leah's biological father. They did a pretty poor job with the recast, however. Daniel Jillings is probably a great actor but looks nothing like Michael. They probably didn't expect anyone to compare. They've done brilliantly with recasts in the past (such as the Holly Cunninghams) and with the Roscoe twins looking like real life twins.

Loading editor
• Yeah, I agree.

Also, I've figured out why I'm skeptical about Lynsey's death now. It's because her death itself was the best as it was totally unexpected and the right person, however the aftermath of her death was half-baked just like Texas's death. It will be worth it if they do a storyline involving Cindy and Mercedes which reveals that Mercedes killed Browning and Cindy & Lindsey covered it up. Then it gets revealed that Mercedes knew that Browning killed Lynsey, but still stuck by him, because I don't think that Lynsey's killer was ever made public to the village. Also, what would make this storyline complete is if Cheryl and Brendan make guest appearances. I just don't know if it was ever revealed to the village that Browning killed Lynsey?

Loading editor
• Didn't Jacqui discover Lynsey's scarf, which was used to kill her, in Browning's bag? And that's why he was arrested for murder? And that would have spread around the village fast. I don't know why he was released though, or what he was convicted of in 2013 which lead him to escape prison in October.

Loading editor
• Yeah, Jacqui did find Lynsey's scarf, but I think he managed to come up with an excuse or something like that, because after that he was released from prison and the village didn't seem to hate him, so he must've gotten away with it.

Loading editor
• That's strange, especially since he confessed to Mercedes that he killed Lynsey and she told him that she hated him and tricked him to get him arrested.
