The Doll (Molly Jenkins)

The Doll was a talking mechanical doll that Seth Costello and Silas Blissett used to blackmail the McQueen family from October 2020 to January 2021.

The McQueens returned to The Dog in the Pond to find a present sitting on the table, which opened itself to reveal a slightly deformed doll. Over the subsequent weeks, the doll discovered secrets of each of the McQueens and used the seven sins to blackmail them - forcing them to pay various sums of thousands of pounds in order to avoid mortification. The doll also had a hidden camera and microphone, which was used to blackmail several of the McQueens as it recorded what they said.

The doll blackmailed John Paul McQueen over the sin of pride, Cher Winters with the sin of envy, Nana McQueen with the sin of gluttony, Mercedes McQueen with the sin of lust, Sylver McQueen with the sin of wrath, Theresa McQueen with the sin of greed, and Goldie McQueen with the sin of sloth.

Sylver was the first to be blackmailed. With the family not taking the blackmail seriously, the blackmailer submitted a confession of Sylver telling Cher that he killed his mother, Breda McQueen. This was sent to the police and Sylver was arrested. However, he was released as the video recording could be admissible in court, and the police were unable to acquire other evidence. Following Sylver's arrest, the McQueens began trying to pay the blackmail. This resulted in them using multiple methods such as borrowing money from James Nightingale, and John Paul stealing the watch of Kyle Kelly. The McQueens later realised that someone in the family was sending information to the blackmailer.

When Mercedes was due to be blackmailed, she concocted a plan to catch the mole. She lied to the each of the McQueens that she had been having an affair, but changed the name for each McQueen whom she 'confessed' to. Eventually, the doll confronted Mercedes and told her that she had been unfaithful with Luke Morgan, whom Mercedes had lied that she had slept with to Theresa. Mercedes subsequently discovered that Theresa was feeding information to Seth Costello, who in turn was working with Silas Blissett. Following this, Mercedes had a showdown with Silas. Theresa knocked out Silas, but he later fled.

The doll made another appearance in September 2022, sitting amongst several items at one of the stalls at the village carnival.
