Sorcha Donnelly was the girlfriend of Alex Bell. In 1999, Alex met Sorcha's sister Caitlin through a dating website. In December 1999, Alex flew over to Northern Ireland to visit Caitlin, only to discover that she had died and her parents were sending the emails. Whilst there, Alex met Sorcha and the pair continued exchanging emails when Alex returned to England.
Whilst Alex was away in Geneva, his friend Matt Musgrove began emailing Sorcha from Alex's account, and Sorcha - charmed by the emails - showed up in April 2000. However, she grew suspicious as Alex couldn't recall what was said in the emails. Alex admitted the truth about the emails and told her that he was a virgin. Sorcha told him that she was a virgin too and the pair slept together before Sorcha returned to Ireland.
