An unnamed sonographer performed an ultrasound on Mercedes McQueen in December 2023. The appointment was an awkward affair as Mercedes had been cheating on her fiancé Felix Westwood, with his best friend Warren Fox, and was unsure on who the father was. Whilst Felix was oblivious to Mercedes's pregnancy, Warren learned through listening in on a secret conversation and accompanied Mercedes to her scan. Mercedes was tense during the scan, having previously miscarried and had a stillbirth. The sonographer had difficulty finding the heartbeat and went off to get a second opinion, during which a fearful Mercedes - not wanting to risk confirmation that she had miscarried again - fled from the hospital.
The same sonographer performed a 12-week scan on Leela Lomax in February 2024. Whilst she couldn't tell the gender of the baby, she informed Leela and her partner Joel Dexter - who had arrived late - that the baby was looking healthy.
