Shane was a man Malachy Fisher knew when he used to live in Northern Ireland. Shane teased Kris Fisher after he came out as bisexual, to which Kris assured Shane that he wouldn't try anything as he did not have any feelings for Shane, which made Shane feel humiliated. Shane later taunted and attacked Kris, which resulted in a bar fight, in which Malachy attacked Shane, beat him with a pool cue and, when Shane grabbed Kris, knocked him out by hitting him over the head with Eamon Fisher's urn.
Malachy bumped into Shane a few days later, after his HIV diagnosis was made public. Shane taunted Malachy, who got physical, and Shane admitted that he was scared of Malachy touching him in case Malachy gave him HIV. He told Malachy that he had a "disgusting disease" and that he wasn't normal. However, Shane later attended Malachy's wedding to Mercedes McQueen, and congratulated him. He also danced with Michaela McQueen at the wedding.
