Sam Townend played Nige Foster sporadically between December 2007 and August 2008 when the character was supposedly killed off. He returned in November 2008 when the character was revealed to be alive, and again in January and February 2009.
Sam has also appeared in A Touch of Frost, Adam's Family Tree, Where the Heart Is, Playing the Field and Heartbeat.
