Prince Hayden Bentley McQueen is the son of Goldie McQueen and Shane Sweeney, the twin brother of Hunter McQueen, the widower of Lily McQueen, the ex-husband of Olivia Bradshaw, and the father of Theo Anderson. He is the ex-fiancé of Dilly Harcourt.
Biography[]
2001-2016: Early Life[]
Twins Prince and Hunter McQueen were born to a teenage Goldie McQueen in May 2001. Goldie's mother Breda helped raise the twins, but Goldie struggled to bond with them and decided to call social services to have adopted. However, a few days later, Goldie began missing the twins and changed her mind, managing to get them back.
2016-2017: Arrival[]
Prince and Hunter arrived in Hollyoaks in November 2016, breaking into the McQueen family's house. On their first day at Hollyoaks High School, Prince and Hunter ended up in detention after Prince accidentally hit Louis with a football. Prince ended up befriending Alfie Nightingale, but immediately led him astray. He also fell for Lily Drinkwell, who reciprocated his feelings. After a rocky start, the pair soon began dating. Prince and Hunter's father Shane Sweeney arrived in the village in January 2017; Prince wasn't happy to see him at first, but soon changed his tune. After Shane prepared to scam teacher Neeta Kaur, Hunter warned her and Shane was forced to flee. Prince then took revenge by giving Neeta a folder of Hunter's romanticised drawings of her.
Lily and Prince's relationship was threatened by her friend Yasmine Maalik, who had also developed feelings for Prince. Yasmine claimed to have slept with Prince, creating a rift between him and Lily. After Yasmine began having heart problems, Prince - despite not having a licence - attempted to drive her to the hospital, but crashed the car on the way. Prince discharged himself early, but collapsed from a brain bleed whilst attempting to help Shane burgle the school. After a successful surgery, Prince was questioned over the robbery, but he refused to give Shane's name to the police.
After Shane and Cleo McQueen stole money from Goldie's bank account, Prince burgled 5 Oakdale Drive, Flat 3 to steal Simone Loveday's mother's jewellery. Simone caught Prince and identified him to the police, but Goldie made a false confession to protect him and fled the village. Meanwhile, Prince and Lily decided that they wanted to sleep together, but were caught by Lily's aunt Diane Hutchinson. Returning to Prince's, Lily was offended by a remark from Shane about her scar from the crash. Prince believed that she had changed her mind about him, Prince ended up sleeping with Yasmine. Lily was devastated when she caught them together, but forgave Prince.
During Jade Albright's memorial prize giving at Hollyoaks High School in October 2017, Mac Nightingale inadvertently caused an explosion. Prince - who had been outside when the explosion occurred - attempted to rescue his friends by setting up his ladder over a hole where the floor had given way, managing to rescue Lily and Peri Lomax before the ladder fell.
2017-2018: Marriage to Lily[]
Prince was left delighted when Lily's uncle-in-law Tony Hutchinson gave him permission to propose to Lily. However, the proposal was ruined by Diane and Prince struggled when he discovered that Lily was still self-harming. He ended up sleeping with Peri, but reconciled with Lily after she was hospitalised with sepsis. As the pair made plans to marry in Las Vegas, Peri presented Prince with a positive pregnancy test, with Lily also learning of their infidelity. Lily broke up with him and Prince decided to stand by Peri, even allowing her to move in with him. However, Prince was unaware that the test was a false positive and Diane made Peri keep up the lie.
However, after learning of Diane's interference in their relationship, Prince and Lily reconciled and got re-engaged. When Dee Dee fell ill, Prince rushed her to hospital, changing Diane's view on him. The pair married in March 2018, despite Shane (on Goldie's orders) and Diane attempting to stop it from happening. The pair moved into 5 Oakdale Drive, Flat 2, but they were immediately hit with financial problems. Lily took issue with Prince's immoral money-making methods, such as holding raves and charging an entry fee. Through holding raves, Prince ended up befriending Romeo Quinn, who also became close to Lily.
Finding a lump in his testicles, Prince confided in Romeo, who convinced him to see a doctor. Fearing the worst, Prince ended up spiralling: losing his job cleaning windows at Hollyoaks High School, having a run-in with Louis, and snapping at Lily. After confiding in Louis, Prince prepared to tell Lily, but Lily instead revealed that she wanted to try for a baby. When Prince became distant, Lily believed that he was having another affair and planned to leave him, until Nana McQueen revealed that Prince was undergoing surgery for cancer removal. The surgery was a success, but Prince learned that Lily had been planning to leave him and left the village at Christmas 2018.
2019: Lily's Death & Departure[]
Prince returned to the village in March 2019, wanting a reconciliation with Lily. However, she had begun seeing Romeo and she repeatedly turned him down. Lily ended up telling him about Romeo and he exploded, punching Romeo during a public confrontation. However, after Diane told him that she worried that Lily may begin self-harming again, he decided to accept that Lily had chosen Romeo over him. Lily ended up in the mental health ward of Dee Valley University Hospital after Courtney Campbell spotted cuts on her wrists, but she escaped to go on the run of Romeo after he was accused of killing Mac Nightingale. Lily ended up dying of sepsis in Chester North Train Station, and Prince blamed Romeo.
Struggling to cope with Lily's death, Prince decided to begin working for gangster Liam Donovan. Prince ended up stealing Liam's gun and tracked down Romeo following his release from prison. After holding him hostage and threatening to shoot him, Romeo managed to talk him down. However, tensions reignited between the pair at Lily's funeral. After causing damage at Price Slice, Prince began working at Tom Cunningham's summer camp - hired on the agreement that he would reconcile with Romeo. After being fired, Prince decided to leave the village to go travelling, following a plan he and Lily had made together.
2021-: Return[]
Prince returned to the village in September 2021, accompanied by his fiancée Olivia Bradshaw, who Goldie immediately took a disliking to. Goldie was left devastated when Prince and Olivia revealed that they planned to move to New Zealand so Olivia could begin a new teaching job, so she purposefully ruined Olivia's job application. The pair were therefore forced to remain in England, with Olivia getting a job at Hollyoaks High School. Prince also got a job at the school, but was fired after vodka bottles hidden by John Paul McQueen were found in the caretaker's cupboard by students DeMarcus Westwood and Leah Barnes.
Discovering that John Paul was an alcoholic, Prince agreed to keep it a secret but attempted to help him recover. After John Paul crashed a minibus due to withdrawal symptoms, Prince covered for him, but Olivia overheard them and began blackmailing John Paul. Goldie discovered that Olivia was behind the blackmail letters and considered leaving her, but she told him about her upbringing. After Goldie and Mercedes McQueen evicted Olivia, Prince also decided to leave with her.

- In June 2019, it was announced that Prince would be leaving the series in summer 2019. His final scenes aired in Episode 5230 (9th August 2019).
- It was announced in June 2021 that Prince would be returning in autumn 2021, with his return airing in Episode 5673 (8th September 2021).
