Peter Andrew "Pete" Buchanan is Reenie McQueen's ex-husband, it is revealed that he sexually assaulted Porsche McQueen when she was 15 years old and subjected her younger sisters, Celine and Cleo to varying levels of abuse. Pete was finally found out and was sentenced to six year imprisonment in June 2016. Pete returned in October 2018 for a one-off appearance and made a short return once again in April 2021 due to him being released from prison.
Biography[]
1975-2015: Backstory[]
Pete meets Reenie McQueen by the 1990s and begins a relationship with her however Pete had a dark side when he use to sexually assault Reenie's oldest daughter, Porsche McQueen and this carried on until Porsche's early adult life until she moved out of home Pete then turned his attentions to Reenie's youngest daughter, Cleo McQueen whom he began to broom as soon as Cleo turned 13.
2015: Arrival[]
Pete arrives in Hollyoaks village in June 2015 when he meets up with his ex-girlfriend Reenie McQueen however, Porsche is far from happy to see Pete arrive in the village and it's not known why until, Porsche reveals that Pete use to sexually assault her throughout her teen years to Phoebe McQueen. Pete's predatory behaviour is then seen on the day of Phoebe's funeral when its seen his in a "relationship" with Cleo a relationship that has been going on since Cleo was underage of consent.
2015-2016: Sexually Abusing Cleo and the Grooming of Jade Albright[]
When Cleo refuses to continue her "relationship" with him, Pete leaves Reenie, knowing that this will cause Reenie's drinking to spiral out of control. Subsequently, Cleo begs for him to return and he does so on the understanding that she will go along with what he wants. Upon his return he proposes to Reenie, but privately tells Cleo that this is so he can be closer to Cleo. Pete grows extremely jealous of Cleo's relationship with her boyfriend, Harry, even persuading Jack Osborne to rethink his decision of letting Cleo work for him during the summer. To prevent Cleo from going to see Harry, Pete has sex with Cleo. After months of the secret relationship, Cleo tells Harry Thompson about her relationship. Harry is disgusted and goes to tell Reenie and her family on her wedding day to Pete. When Harry bursts in, he reveals it. No one believes him, until one-by-one, The McQueen's realise. Pete then leaves.
Pete has shown an interest to Jade Albright. He then starts trying to manipulate her but doesn't end up sleeping with her. Reenie initially refuses to believe Harry, Porsche or Cleo, but when her sister Myra McQueen reveals she has noticed Cleo acting strangely for the past few days, and after Porsche shows her messages Pete has been sending to local schoolgirl Jade Albright, Reenie finally sees Pete as a paedophile and throws him out. The day after the wedding, Reenie and Porsche give statements to the police about Pete, however Cleo refuses to. Reenie gets drunk and reveals to Myra that Derek did to her what Pete has done to Porsche and Cleo. She is then upset when Darren Osborne blames her for Pete's messages to Jade. Later that day, Pete is run over by an unknown assailant in one of Darren's taxis. The police arrest Darren for the hit-and-run, however, when Reenie visits Pete in hospital, it transpires that she tried to kill him, and Pete then threatens to call the police on her if she does not drop the charges of sexual abuse against him. After Celine threatens him, Pete informs the police that Reenie was behind the hit-and-run, and she is subsequently arrested. She confesses to the crime and is released on bail, however, Cleo and Porsche are both furious with Reenie over her actions.
2016: Sentencing[]
By February 2016, Pete outed as a paedophile and attempts to run away with Cleo however is stopped by John Paul whom Pete beats up for. Later on Pete is unknowingly threatened by serial killer Silas Blissett as well as his former stepdaughter Celine attempting to kill him by injecting him with Potassium Chloride and Pete is soon arrested and put on trail by June 2016 and after a week Pete is found guilty and is given a six-year sentence.
2018: Joel's Visit[]
Pete in seen again for a one-off appearance in October 2018 when he is visited by Cleo's current boyfriend, Joel Dexter whom tells Pete who he is while confronting him telling Pete Cleo is suffering from Bulimia and has had a heart attack and it all links back to Pete and this leads Pete to wind up Joel by telling him Cleo will always be his and this leads Joel to beat up Pete and leave.
2021: Release From Prison[]
Pete returns again in April 2021 after being released from Prison which Cleo and her current boyfriend, Toby Faroe are aware about however Cleo is shocked to learn that Pete has been attending a church under a fake name the very church that Toby's grandfather, Walter Deveraux attends whom is helping Pete. When Cleo and Toby discover this they confront Pete and discover his still talking to underage girls and this leads to Toby to attack Pete and later found by Cleo whom orders Pete to never return again however Cleo reaches breaking point months later and attempts to lure and kill Pete but is talked down by Toby, Pete is then re arrested by D.I. Cohen and is sent back to prison for breaking his bail conditions..
