2022-: Arrival[]
Matchmaker Nadira arrived in Hollyoaks in March 2022, attending a Muslim matrimony event at The Dog in the Pond. Whilst there, she encountered childhood friend Shaq Qureshi, who was amazed by how different she looked. After learning that Shaq was having trouble romantically, she decided to help him find a wife. The deal was complicated when Nadira learned that Shaq had unfinished business with his ex-girlfriend Verity Hutchinson, but Shaq showed his dedication to Nadira's matchmaking. Shaq ended up developing feelings for Nadira and eventually convinced her to marry him.

Nadira ended up feeling conflicted after befriending Juliet Nightingale and falling for her. The pair initiated an affair, despite Juliet also being in a relationship, but Nadira repeatedly denied having feelings for Juliet. Nadira's father Kamal Valli arrived in the village in May 2022 after Shaq informed him of the engagement, which Nadira had not. After Kamal gave Shaq money to fund the wedding, Nadira and Shaq set the date for 24th October. However, Nadira's feelings for Juliet continued, especially as Juliet and Peri Lomax began having relationship problems. After attending a meeting about the wedding plans, Juliet took Nadira to the City Wall, kissed her, then told Nadira to make a decision about their future.
After spending the night with Nadira, Juliet admitted to Peri that she had been unfaithful and broke up with her. Juliet continued her affair with Nadira, but Nadira continued to refuse to leave Shaq for her: telling Juliet that she would lose everything if she came out, and was adamant on marrying Shaq. Merely hours before the wedding, Peri told Shaq of Nadira and Juliet's affair. During the ceremony, Shaq and Nadira decided not to marry as Shaq subsequently realised that he wanted a reconciliation with Verity. The pair remained friends and Nadira continued her relationship with Juliet, but initially struggled being romantic with Juliet in public.

Juliet's feelings for Peri began to resurface and Nadira began feeling jealous of them spending time together. Nadira arranged for Juliet to meet Kamal, but Juliet had to postpone as she was feeling too unwell. After sharing a kiss with Peri, Juliet confessed to Nadira and broke up with her. She then began lying to both Peri and Nadira until finally revealing that she had been diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgkins' Lymphoma. Nadira supported Juliet, helping her tell her mother Donna-Marie Quinn. However, after Juliet reunited with Peri, Nadira began to move on.

- Actress Ashling O'Shea's casting as Shaq Qureshi's love interest Nadira was revealed in March 2022, shortly after the premiere of Hollyoaks's 2022 Spring trailer. Nadira began being credited with the regular cast in April 2022.
- Nadira was portrayed by Sophia Hussain in flashback scenes airing in episode 5842 (3rd May 2022).
