Martine Gloria Westwood (née Deveraux) is the daughter of Walter and Gloria Deveraux and the sister of Simone Loveday and Melanie Deveraux.
Martine was born around 1977. In 1993, she met Felix Westwood and had triplets Celeste Faroe, Toby Faroe and Mitchell Deveraux. Felix sold Toby and Celeste to Ramsey Ley and Walter forced him to flee with the money, whilst Walter and Gloria raised Mitchell as Martine left to begin a career as an air hostess.
In October 2018, Martine arrived on the doorstep of her husband Louis Loveday, who was engaged to Leela Lomax and had ignited an affair with his ex-wife/Martine's sister Simone. Louis went missing (later discovering that he was murdered by Breda McQueen) and Simone decided to move to Jamaica, with Martine taking over her job as Price Slice manager and moving into the flat above the store.
Toby and Celeste eventually tracked down Martine, having escaped from "Doctor" Ley in 2007. Celeste also brought Felix back to the village, resulting in Martine encountering him for the first time in 26 years. Martine found her old feelings bubbling to the surface and the pair embarked on two affairs before eventually getting together and marrying in November 2021 following Martine's treatment for breast cancer.
The body of Martine's niece Lisa Loveday was discovered in December 2021 and Mitchell was accused of being prime suspect, having fled the village in November 2020 after finding Lisa's body and being threatened by Toby and Celeste. In January 2022, Toby confessed to killing Lisa following an explosion at Salon de Thé de Marnie with the family inside. Celeste was killed in the blast and Toby was eventually arrested. After Toby was moved to a maximum security prison, Martine decided to move to Dorset to be closer to him, leaving behind Felix who decided against joining her.
Biography[]
1977-2018: Early Life[]
Martine was born to Walter and Gloria Deveraux in circa 1977. In 1993, Martine met Felix Westwood and ended up falling pregnant by him. She ended up giving birth to triplets in March 1994, which Felix tried to sell to Ramsey Ley in order to get enough money to run away with her. However, Walter forced Felix to leave alone with the money and lied to Martine about his departure. Ramsey refused to take the third triplet as he was expected by doctors not to live, so Martine kept him and later named him Mitchell Deveraux. Martine later decided to take a job as a flight attendant, leaving Mitchell to be raised by Walter and Gloria. At some point prior to 2015, Gloria died of cancer.
2018-2019: Arrival[]
Martine arrives in the village.
Martine arrived in Hollyoaks in October 2018, to the surprise of her husband Louis Loveday. Despite embarking on an affair with Martine's sister Simone Loveday and preparing to marry Leela Lomax in the coming weeks, Louis continued his relationship with Martine. Martine and Simone revealed the truth on Leela and Louis's wedding day, with Louis going missing after being jilted. Martine moved into 5 Oakdale Drive, Flat 3 and took over as manager of Price Slice when Simone moved to Jamaica. She was soon joined by Walter and her son Mitchell. She quickly bonded with her niece Lisa Loveday, and also befriended Scott Drinkwell and Grace Black (despite initially disliking the latter). She also got along with Mitchell's girlfriend Cleo McQueen.
After an argument with Mitchell over his treatment of Scott, Mitchell reminded Martine that he was raised by Walter and his wife Gloria. Martine viewed a baby photo of Mitchell, but unfolded it to reveal that Mitchell was not her only child. Martine was unhappy to learn that Mitchell had been unfaithful, resulting in his split with Cleo, but was lead to believe that he was cheating with a woman named "Sabrina".
2020: Facing the Past[]

In January 2020, the oblivious Deveraux family were stalked by Toby and Celeste Faroe. Toby ended up finding a photograph of Mitchell kissing Scott and hid it in the flat for Walter - who was vehemently against homosexuality - to discover. Walter's reaction caused a rift in his family as Walter threw him out, whilst Martine and Lisa turned against Walter. Martine managed to put things right with Mitchell in time for his birthday, but was dealt a shock when Toby and Celeste revealed that they were her other two children - Mitchell was a triplet! Martine revealed to the trio that their father was a man named Felix Westwood, with Celeste successfully tracking him down and bringing him to the village.
Martine struggled as Toby and Celeste outrightly rejected her and Mitchell was cold towards her, but was left conflicted by Felix claiming to still be in love with her. However, Mitchell soon came round and Celeste softened upon realising that Martine was unaware that Felix had sold Toby and Celeste to Ramsey Ley. She became jealous when Felix began a relationship with Lisa, resulting in tensions arising between her and Lisa. Martine ended up beginning an affair with Felix, which was revealed on Mitchell and Scott's wedding day in September 2020. After the wedding, Lisa supposedly left the village for Ibiza.
Toby eventually also began to soften towards Martine, whilst Martine acknowledged the unfinished business between her and Felix. However, Felix began a relationship with Grace. In November 2020, Mitchell left the village abruptly, supposedly to accept a new job elsewhere, but Toby managed to ease her suspicions. In December, Walter began suffering from kidney failure and the family were tested. Martine informed Toby that he was a match, with Toby agreeing to donate a kidney to Walter.
2021-2022: Cancer and Losing Toby & Celeste[]
Martine is diagnosed with breast cancer.
Despite Felix's relationship with Grace, Martine and Felix ignited another affair. This time, Martine attempted to convince Felix to leave Grace for her, but he repeatedly made excuses. Whilst seducing Felix in Warren's Wheels, Felix felt a lump on her breast which Martine later discovered was breast cancer. As Martine went through chemotherapy, she grew closer to both Felix and Grace. After Felix was arrested on suspicion of performing a robbery at Price Slice which left Walter injured, Martine gave him an alibi, resulting in Grace learning of their affair. Martine chose to end her affair with Felix to save her relationship with Grace, and Felix decided to leave the village.
However, Felix turned up at Walter's birthday party in September 2021. Martine forgave Felix for leaving her after rescuing him from drowning in a lake, but Grace did not take their relationship well. Martine was informed that the chemotherapy had not worked as intended and needed to undergo a masectomy, with Martine distracting herself by focusing on the arrival of Felix's son DeMarcus Westwood. She became fearful that Felix would leave her after the masectomy, so Felix proposed to her. She rejected, wanting him to wait until after the operation. Martine underwent the masectomy but Felix was unable to be with her as he had been kidnapped by Warren Fox and pretended to be dead to get Fergus Collins arrested. Felix soon revealed that he was alive and Martine accepted his second proposal, and planned to run away with him. The pair agreed that Felix would leave alone as Martine was too ill to accompany him. Felix returned after Fergus was killed in November 2021.
Martine is involved in the Salon de Thé explosion.
In December 2021, a body was found in Croxford Woods and Martine was informed by D.S. Saul Reeves and D.S. Lexi Calder that the body was identified as Lisa. Martine was left horrified when the officers told her that Mitchell was prime suspect and vehemently defended him. After Toby was deemed fit for donating his kidney to Walter, the family celebrated at the 'Dee Valley Heroes' event at Salon de Thé de Marnie. As Toby prepared to confess to Lisa's murder, the building exploded. Toby told his family and girlfriend Cleo the truth behind Lisa's murder (but omitted Celeste's involvement). Celeste was killed when the roof collapsed, Toby was left comatose and Martine outrightly rejected Felix upon learning that he knew the truth.
Toby awoke from his coma in February 2022 and Martine tried to help Toby flee the country. Felix decided to call the police and Toby was arrested. Martine was incensed that they had now lost all three of their children, but received a call from Toby who was happier not having to harbour such a big secret. After Celeste's funeral, Martine decided to reunite with Felix and become a family with DeMarcus. Walter's old friend Pearl Anderson and her granddaughter Zoe moved in with the Westwoods, but Martine struggled to handle their cheerful presence as she grieved for Celeste. However, she had a heart-to-heart with Damon Kinsella (whose best friend Brody Hudson was murdered in September 2021) and decided to lean on her family and friends for support. In April 2022, Martine received was declared all-clear of cancer and decided to look into reconstructive surgery after the option was presented by doctor Misbah Maalik.
Martine became concerned when Toby began behaving self-destructively in prison, but Felix did not share her concerns. After learning that Toby was to be transferred to a prison in Dorset, Martine began making plans for the family to move across. However, DeMarcus told her and Felix that he did not want to leave, and Felix attempted to convince Martine to stay in the village. Martine was hellbent on moving to Dorset, and told Felix that she would have to leave on her own. The pair said an amicable fairwell and Martine left the village.
