Maria-Carmela McQueen

Maria-Carmela McQueen is the daughter of Mercedes McQueen and Felix Westwood, and the fraternal twin sister of Maria-Gabriella McQueen. She is the half sister of Toby and Celeste Faroe, Mitchell Drinkwell-Deveraux, DeMarcus Westwood, Bobby Costello and Gabriel McQueen. Her name is a tribute to Mercedes' sister Carmel Valentine, who died in 2014.

Mercedes discovered she was pregnant in November 2023, but didn't know if the father was her fiancé Felix Westwood or his best friend Warren Fox, who she was having an affair with. In late December 2023, Mercedes, accompanied by Warren, attended a baby scan, but when the sonographer struggled to find a heartbeat, Mercedes was convinced she had a miscarriage and ran off, but soon discovered she was still pregnant. In January 2024, on the day of her and Felix's wedding, Mercedes was involved in a car crash accidentally caused by Felix, who'd just found out about Mercedes' affair. After being taken to hospital, Mercedes was told that she was expecting twins. A few weeks later, Mercedes did a paternity test at Warren's request and discovered, as a result of superfecundation, that Felix was the father of one baby and Warren was the father of the other baby.

In March 2024 at a gender reveal party, Mercedes discovered she was expecting twin girls. In July 2024, after being deliberately locked in Casa McQueen with Warren by Grace Black, Mercedes went into labour and - with help from Warren - gave birth to her and Felix's daughter second. The pair had a scare, however, as she was tangled within the umbilical cord. Warren and Mercedes raised the baby as Felix had fled the village, fearing that Warren would kill him for fatally hitting Ella Richardson with a car (unaware Ste Hay was actually the driver). The next day, Mercedes named the baby Maria-Carmela after her beloved late sister Carmel Valentine.
