Lexi Calder

D.I. Lexi Calder was a police officer who was assigned to the investigation into "Operation Bluebird" in October 2021. Working alongside undercover D.S. Saul Reeves, Lexi arrived in Hollyoaks to confront him over neglecting the "Operation Bluebird" case in favour of forming a relationship with gangster Grace Black and investigating the disappearance of Lisa Loveday. The "Operation Bluebird" case was solved when the deceased Fergus Collins was revealed as the man behind the operations, but after Fergus had been killed in defence of Trish Minniver by her daughter Maxine as Trish attempted to record a confession for the police.

With Fergus deceased, Lexi began setting her sights on Maya Harkwell, who she believed to be Fergus's boss. She also began investigating the disappearance of Timmy Simons. A search in Croxford Woods for Timmy's body resulted in Lisa's body being discovered. With Lisa's cousin Celeste Faroe having framed her brother Mitchell Deveraux for the crime, Lexi informed Mitchell and Celeste's mother Martine Deveraux that Mitchell was prime suspect. Celeste and Mitchell's brother Toby Faroe was later revealed as Lisa's killer, and was arrested by the police in February 2022.

Lexi returned to the village in March 2022 after her daughter Freya was seriously injured in a minibus crash during a school trip. Despite teacher John Paul McQueen telling Lexi and Freya that the crash was his fault, John Paul's relative Prince McQueen told Lexi that John Paul was struggling with survivor's guilt. Lexi told John Paul that she had read the police report and he needed to stop blaming himself. However, at Freya's fundraising event, a private conversation between John Paul and Prince about the crash was broadcast over the speakers. John Paul ended up telling Lexi and Freya the full truth and while Freya talked Lexi out of pursuing criminal charges, Lexi ensured that headteacher Sally St. Claire fired John Paul.

After learning that Sally was considering re-hiring John Paul, Lexi began targeting the McQueens to scare Sally into changing her mind. However, she put the feud on hold after Saul was fatally stabbed and all of her focus on finding his killer. Distraught by Saul's death, Lexi strongly accused DeMarcus Westwood of the crime, especially when the evidence began to mount against him (with help from Saul's true killer Joseph Holmes). DeMarcus was charged with Saul's death and was remanded in custody.

After Silas Blissett returned to the village in an attempt to get his great-grandson Bobby Costello, Lexi was one of the police officers involved in attempting to protect the family from him. After an explosion caused by Silas, Lexi went into The Cage to find Bobby. However, Silas ended up luring her into a trap and struck her with a flashlight, killing her.

In August 2023, Freya asked her art teacher Hunter McQueen to help her with her attempts at drawing a portrait of Lexi. Hunter completed the drawing with the help of Lexi's colleague Zoe Anderson. In October 2023, Freya mentioned that Lexi had kept Carter out of her life until her death.
