Lauren was an inmate at the psychiatric hospital Mitzeee Minniver was incarcerated at in 2012. In September 2012, Lauren attacked a prison guard, causing the van they were travelling in to crash. With Mitzeee handcuffed to Lauren, Lauren was forced to bring Mitzeee with her in her bid to escape. Mitzeee was initially left enraged by Lauren, who attacked guards and forced Mitzeee to swim through a lake and run through a sewer.
Lauren took Mitzeee to Hollyoaks, hiding inside 2 Oakdale Drive with Mitzeee's best friend Nancy Osborne. She forced Nancy to drive her to the West Gate Barracks to find her boyfriend Raymond, as she wanted to be impregnanted by him before he left for Afghanistan.
Despite managing to remove the handcuffs, Lauren accompanied Mitzeee to 5 Oakdale Drive, Flat 1 to find Mercedes McQueen, who had framed Mitzeee for stabbing her. Lauren was impressed as Mitzeee threatened to stab Mercedes for real, but Mitzeee changed her mind and decided to leave. Lauren, however, decided to handcuff Mercedes and Riley Costello together, trapping them around the kitchen table. She then destroyed their telephone before leaving.
Outside of the village, Lauren told Mitzeee that her quest was complete and that it was time to hand herself in. Mitzeee, who had come to like Lauren, was upset and tried to change her mind. Lauren told Mitzeee that she "just knew" that she was pregnant and left to be arrested.
