Lady Molly was the grandmother of Finn. Her only child - Finn's mother - left home to marry criminal Eric Finnigan, a relationship Lady Molly heavily disapproved of. When Finn's mother died, he was sent to Ireland to live with her. Finn greatly disliked his abnormal childhood in the castle and eagerly took up his father's offer to join him in England.
In September 1999, Finn made his first visit - accompanied by several of his friends - to the castle since leaving with his father. He had received a letter from Lady Molly, who was in poor health, pleading with him to take up his title of Lord Kildiggin. Finn remained stern and declined, happy in his vagrant lifestyle. However, Lady Molly died shortly after and Finn inherited the estate in her will. He decided to remain in Ireland to sort out his grandmother's affairs, until learning of the death of his friend Kurt Benson. Finn returned to Hollyoaks, leaving the castle in the care of Lady Molly's faithful companion, her butler James.
