Kevin Smith was a man who Elliot Bevan met in July 2010, claiming to be an alien and asking for Elliot to help him to return to his home planet. Nancy Hayton and Kris Fisher struggled to believe Kevin but Elliot, who was told by his mother as a young boy that his father had been abducted by aliens, agreed to help Kevin. Doug Carter discovered that Kevin was abandoned by his parents as a baby, but Kevin continued to tell everyone that he was an alien. Elliot helped Kevin build a Beacon, which was successfully turned on, and Kevin gifted Tom Cunningham a telescope before leaving. Not long after, Kevin managed to secure Elliot a job at NASA.
