Kat Omari was a woman residing in a safe house provided by Rex Gallagher, along with her son Jacob Omari.
Kat was a young woman who was targeted by an exploitation gang as a young single mother who had no one and nothing. She was previously abused by the father of her son Jacob, and was lead to believe the only crime taking place was drug related, which did not bother her as they had already gotten her addicted. They would often threaten her and her son in order to control her and get her to do their bidding. Introduced following the time jump in fall of 2024, she and her son were originally being protected in a safe house provided by Rex Gallagher, but he turned on her after he decided to go back to helping the trafficking gang.
Kat was used by the gang to target Frankie Osborne, whom they felt would be an ideal target after the abuse she had suffered at the hands of her own brother JJ, and the death of her mother Suzanne. She connected with Frankie online about dance and then met her in person and befriended her by manufacturing stories about her past that Frankie would relate too. When Kat discovered that Frankie was the daughter of Darren Osborne, whom she had befriended when he was staying with Charlie, she tried to tell Rex they should leave Frankie alone. Instead, seeing that Darren was the main obstacle keeping the exploitation gang from getting to Frankie, they forced Kat to lie and say her and Darren slept together. This plan worked and caused Frankie to resent her dad for destroying their family, and she moved in with Dillon Ray, who was also being exploited.
At some point Kat became pregnant, and when Nancy Osborne found out she assumed it was Darren's child, still believing the lie that he cheated on her with Kat. Kat later showed up at their doorstep, beaten, and told Nancy that she never slept with Darren. They allowed her to stay the night and the next morning demanded she tell them what she knew and she told them everything about the exploitation ring and how much danger Frankie was in.
When Darren arrived at Fermere Hill to rescue Frankie, he was appalled to see Kat there. She quickly pretended like he was a client to trick the men working for DI Banks and lead Darren to the hidden room where Frankie was being held prisoner. Darren broke down, saying Kat had told him it was only drugs but he realized his daughter had been sex trafficked. The police raided the house, and in the weeks since, Jacob has mentioned that Kat is in prison. However, Clare Devine still has some power over her as she has threatened her multiple times.
