Kashif Maalik was the patriarch of the Maalik family. Kashif was an accountant at the Forbes Carney Solicitors law firm and helped James Nightingale settle into his new job on his first day. Under pressure from his father Mac, James began embezzling money from the company and framed Kashif, despite Kashif acting kindly towards him. Kashif was arrested and he later killed himself in prison. The family were left devastated by his death, but Kashif's children would not learn that his death was suicide until 2018.
The Maaliks were left devastated for many years after Kashif's death. The revelation of his cause of death lead to Imran Maalik turning on his family and ultimately becoming abusive, ending up in an anger management clinic. Misbah did not have another relationship until she met Zain Rizwaan. Misbah remembered Kashif when Zain proposed to Misbah hours before they married in August 2022.
