Joseph Holmes

Joseph Holmes is the boyfriend of Vicky Grant.

Joseph arrived in Hollyoaks in June 2022 in search of his girlfriend Vicky Grant, who had been fostered by Joseph's parents until they sent her away after Joseph and Vicky began a relationship. Joseph grew jealous when Vicky formed a friendship with DeMarcus Westwood and attacked DeMarcus with his gang. Joseph continued to hold a threatening presence over a petrified DeMarcus, whilst continuing to treat Vicky badly and buying her expensive gifts when she considered breaking up with him.

At the Hollyoaks High School end-of-term party in the park, P.C. Saul Reeves attempted to diffuse a fight between DeMarcus and Joseph. After the event, Joseph returned to the park alone and found Saul's engagement ring for Grace Black. Saul arrived to find it, and DeMarcus followed to give him a knife he had armed himself with to defend himself against Joseph's gang. Joseph was caught videoing the exchange by Saul, who he pushed over. As Saul attempted to arrest him, Joseph grabbed DeMarcus's knife and stabbed him before fleeing. Saul was found by Sid Sumner, but died in hospital a few days later. Joseph later planted the knife and ring in DeMarcus's pocket and called the police.

With DeMarcus out of the picture, Joseph continued to manipulate Vicky. Vicky's foster father Scott Drinkwell expressed his dislike for Joseph, so Joseph attempted to convince Vicky to run away with him. When she refused to leave, Joseph ended up sleeping with Serena Chen-Williams and convinced Vicky that she drove him to cheat on her. After Scott and his roommate Maxine Minniver noticed Vicky posing with a photograph of Saul's ring, she confronted Joseph and realised that he was involved in Saul's death.
