Joe was the boyfriend of Louise Taylor. In October 1995, Maddie Parker caught Joe kissing another girl outside the bins at the Hollyoaks Community Hall, where Louise's 17th birthday party was taking place. Natasha Andersen and Dawn Cunningham also caught Joe, at the same time as Louise. An enraged Louise confronted Joe and tried to slap him, but he pinned her to the wall. Kurt Benson pulled Joe off Louise and punched him, and stopped him from going for Louise again, ensuring he was on his way.
