Jennifer Joanne "Jen" Metcalfe is an English actress who played Mercedes McQueen from June 2006 to November 2014 when the character was supposedly killed off. Metcalfe returned as Mercedes in February 2015 and played the role until going on maternity leave in 2017. She returned in July 2018 and continues to play the role to the present day. She also appeared in season 1 and seasons 3 to 5 of Hollyoaks Later. Metcalfe auditioned for the role of Clare Devine when the role was set to be recasted, but lost out to Gemma Bissix.
Metcalfe has also appeared in At Home with the Braithwaites, Where the Heart Is and Emmerdale.
