Jasmine "Jas" Bates is the ex-girlfriend of Tony Hutchinson. She was also a personal trainer, and a lifeguard at the local swimming pool.
Biography[]
Jasmine met Tony Hutchinson at a barn dance in May 1998, and it was love at first sight for him. Jasmine and Tony soon began dating, but Tony grew suspicious when he followed Jas to work and found her visiting men at home. After confronting her over his suspicions that she was a prostitute, Jas corrected him and revealed that she was actually a personal trainer. Jas also told Tony that she was bisexual. A couple months later, Jasmine and Tony caught Tony's best friend Kurt Benson having an affair with Kate Patrick - the step-sister of his wife Ruth Benson - but decided to keep quiet. Working as a lifeguard at the local pool, Jas befriended new recruit Adam Morgan.
Starting to bore of her relationship with Tony in March 1999, Jas shared a kiss with Adam before deciding to break up with Tony. She also moved into 10b Springfield Gardens, becoming Ruth's flatmate. Jas kissed Ruth and whilst Ruth initially reciprocated, she ended up turning on Jas and kicking her out of the flat. However, Ruth apologised and the pair decided to remain friends. Jas then decided to leave the village in June 1999, returning to her family.
