Isaac is the son of Harry Thompson and Sadie Cressington.
After his failed wedding to Ste Hay and his break up with James Nightingale in late October 2018, Harry left the village and had a rebound fling with Sadie, who was his girlfriend when he was a boarding school. Harry returned to the village in January 2019 and reunited with James, unaware that Sadie was pregnant. Sadie arrived in the village in May 2019 to inform Harry of the pregnancy. On the night of the hit-and-run on Grace Black, Harry met with Sadie and paid her to stay away for good as he wanted nothing to do with the baby. Despite this, Sadie wanted Harry to step up and arrived with her belongings at Weirside View, leading James to find out about the pregnancy and giving Harry an ultimatum. Harry promised to support Sadie and the baby, before asking her to give him an alibi for the night of Grace's hit-and-run, which he was wrongly arrested for. However, upon discovering Harry's lie and after accepting payment from the real culprit Liam Donovan, Sadie refused to give Harry an alibi and left the village.
In July 2019, Sadie returns to the village but, after being threatened by Liam, still refuses to help Harry. Sadie later goes into labour and, after being found by Harry's dad Tony Hutchinson, is helped inside The Hutch by Breda McQueen and Darren Osborne. With help from Breda and with Harry holding her hand, Sadie gave birth to a baby boy, who she named Isaac. After seeing Harry bond with Isaac, Sadie decides to change her statement. After missing his plea hearing after being drugged by James, Harry decides to go on the run to avoid going to prison and says an emotional goodbye to Isaac, despite Sadie guiltily begging him not to go. Preparing to go on the run, Harry overhears and records a conversation between Liam and Mercedes McQueen of them admitting to Grace's hit-and-run. On his way to the police station with the evidence to clear his name, Harry is fatally stabbed by Breda, revealed to be a serial killer who kills bad dads. The next day, Sadie leaves the village with Isaac, unaware of Harry's death.
