Ian is the ex-boyfriend of Bazz. Ian met Bazz in a club where Bazz was working as a DJ and flirted with him, who reciprocated. However, Bazz began to feel that Ian was too full on, and left him. In February 1997, Ian arrived in Hollyoaks in search of Bazz, who tried to avoid Ian. Ian managed to corner Bazz at the venue of Lewis Richardson's "Love Lottery" charity event, which Bazz had attended with his friend (whom he had previously kissed) Lucy Benson. Ian trying to talk to Bazz made Lucy realise that Ian was an ex-boyfriend, and Bazz had not told her the truth about his sexuality.
