This is a code of conduct, applying to all editors and commenters regardless of their status on the wiki. This list is devised in accordance with Fandom's own user conduct expectations. Failure to follow these rules may result in a block or - in extreme cases - staff intervention.
Appealing a Block[]
If you have been blocked on the Hollyoaks Wiki, a block reason should be given. If you cannot find your block reason, it appears blank, or you disagree with your reason, please contact an administrator. Please use the wiki's message walls to appeal a block - requests through the Wiki's Discord server will be redirected to the message walls.
Block evasion techniques such as sockpuppetry, the act of creating an alternative account with the purpose of evading a block, will not be tolerated. This will result in a permanent block on the sockpuppet account and a possible ban extension for the main account.
Copyright[]
- This wiki uses the CC-BY-SA licence. You are free to use information on this wiki for any purpose (including commercially), provided that you attribute the source and distribute under the same licence.
- The rights to any screenshots from episodes, videos (such as trailers and behind-the-scenes videos) or promotional images are owned by Lime Pictures.
Commenting Conduct[]
This wiki does not use talk pages, and instead uses article comments. Article comments can be used to discuss anything from the article itself, to the topic of the article. We also have a discussions forum.
- No personal attacks, flame wars or hate messages against other editors or readers, or Hollyoaks's cast and crew members.
- Off-site (outside of the fandom.com domain) advertising and linking is strictly prohibited.
- Discriminatory remarks will not be tolerated and will result in bans.
- No sharing of personal information, such as your name or residence, including your own.
- The topics raised in Hollyoaks are often sensitive topics. Insensitive remarks will be deleted and may result in a ban.
Editing Conduct[]
Due to high-levels of vandalism, editing on the wiki is currently locked to users logged into an account aged three days or older. For more details on editing on the wiki, please see our editing guide.
- Only canon content is allowed on the wiki. Addition of fan-made characters, storylines etc. will be classed as vandalism.
- Low quality articles created not in accordance to the editing guide may be deleted.
- This wiki is spoiler-free for Channel 4 Streaming viewers. Please do not add content that has not yet been aired on Channel 4 Streaming. This includes press articles or actor interviews/statements.
- In accordance with official behind-the-scenes documentation, episode transmission dates for regular episodes reflect the Channel 4 broadcast up until Episode 6205 (22nd September 2023), and the Channel 4 Streaming broadcast from Episode 6206 (22nd September 2023) onwards.
- Whilst edit summaries are not required, edits pertaining to character date of births or other events may be reverted if unsourced. Edit summaries are the best location for providing sources on details.
- Articles are written from a neutral perspective regarding personal judgement on characters.
- Edit warring - the act of repeatedly reverting or adding an edit against another user - will result in the targeted page being protected to admin-only level and a potential editor block. If you disagree with an edit reversion please contact an administrator.
- Unlike Wikipedia, subjects of real-world articles may edit their own wiki pages. This must be written in third person and in accordance with the editing guide.
Vandalism[]
This wiki uses AbuseFilter to help combat vandalism. The filter is design to intercept common vandal edits, and will automatically block an account that triggers the filter before their edit can be published.
- Adding false information in bad faith will result in a block. Repeated bad faith editing will result in a permanent block.
- Moving articles to bad page titles will result in a block.
- The deletion of articles is an action not possible to be carried out by non-administrators. Blanking pages will trigger the AbuseFilter. If you think a page should be deleted, please add {{delete}} to the article.
