Hasina Qureshi is the sister of Misbah Maalik and Kameela and the adoptive mother of Shaq Qureshi.
Hasina arrived in Hollyoaks in July 2021 to bring Shaq back home having been called by Sami Maalik. She also managed to make an enemy of Theresa McQueen, Shaq's girlfriend. Hasina made clear that, despite being estranged from Misbah, the bad feelings between them still remained and the pair argued.
Hasina did not approve of Shaq jilting Lucy at the altar, with Misbah telling Hasina that Lucy was not perfect for Shaq but for Hasina. This caused Hasina to explode, and Shaq walked in on Hasina insulting his intelligence and saying that not for her, that he would be in prison being visited by "half a dozen baby mothers".
Hasina was horrified when Shaq revealed that he knew that his father was not his biological father, and thought that Hasina had an affair with Misbah's late husband Kashif. Hasina admitted that she had lied about his parentage, and told him that Kashif was his father. However, it was later revealed that Misbah was Shaq's biological mother, born out of wedlock to an absent father, and given to Hasina.
In November 2021, Hasina returned after finding a video on The Chester Herald website of Shaq confronting Ali. Hasina turned up with Misbah's diary in an attempt to disprove Misbah's claim that Ali raped her, only for Shaq and Misbah's daughter Yazz to throw her out.
