Harold was an investment company representative who Felix Westwood encountered at a derelict site in February 2023. Felix had his sights set on the building for his new youth club, but Harold informed him that the company he represented had just made an offer to turn the building into luxury apartments. Turning to Dee Valley counsellor Tony Hutchinson for advice, Tony pretended that an endangered bird nested in the forestry next to the site, therefore the council would be making it conservation land and disallowing developments on sites nearby. Harold pulled out of the sale as a result.
That evening, Harold attended the "singles" event at La Gymnastique. Encountering Donna-Marie Quinn - a prostitute he formerly slept with - Harold wound her up as she talked with a man, Greg. As Harold attempted to embarrass her by shouting about her former occupation, Donna-Marie told him that she had two brilliant children in her lives and asked if Harold still had no contact with his children. She also revealed that she was the owner of the gym before evicting him, leaving Greg impressed.
