Hannah Hay-O'Connor

Hannah Katy Hay-O'Connor is the daughter of Sinead O'Connor and Ste Hay the half-sister of Lucas Hay and Katy O'Connor and the adoptive half-sister of Leah Barnes.

Sinead discovered she was pregnant in October 2014 and initially believed that Tony Hutchinson, who she was having an affair with behind her stepmom Diane O'Connor's back was the father. However, in December 2014, Sinead discovered that Tony was left infertile as a result of the chemotherapy he had when he was diagnosed with testicular cancer one year prior, and came to the realisation that her gay best friend Ste Hay, who she'd had a drunken one-night-stand with, was the father of her baby. When Tony learned the truth about the baby's paternity, Sinead told Ste the truth on the day of his wedding to John Paul McQueen.

In May 2015, two days before what would've been Katy O'Connor's second birthday, Sinead went into labour in The Hutch and, with help from Ste, Diane and Scott Drinkwell, gave birth to a baby girl. Sinead initially struggled to name the baby, contemplating "Savannah" or "Destiny" before settling on "Hannah". She received her middle name from her late half-sister Katy. Ste and Sinead raised Hannah together, both living in the same flat, and soon began a relationship. In September 2015, Sinead discovered that Ste had been having an affair with Harry Thompson and left the village with Hannah.

Sinead returned to the village with Hannah in October 2018, accompanied by her husband Laurie Shelby. As Ste became involved with far-right extremists Jonny Baxter and Stuart Sumner, Sinead refused contact between him and Hannah. Laurie was sent to prison for rape and died in August 2019, at which point Sinead had begun a relationship with Sami Maalik. After taking Hannah on holiday to Spain, Sinead decided to stay behind and Sami returned alone.
