Episode 89 is an episode of Hollyoaks which aired on Monday 17th March 1997.

Synopsis

Susi is distraught to hear of her father's death, and has a blazing row with her mother. Bazz has a row with Lewis, and is the victim of a homophobic attack later that night. Jambo is fired from the garden centre whilst Spike continues to get on the wrong side of Kurt.

Plot

Ollie wants to go out on Kirk's scooter but Kurt doesn't let him. Spike makes an enemy in Kurt. Julie finds a buyer for the funeral car. Janice and Jambo's boss is rude to them after finding them talking. His father arrives but Ronnie isn't pleased to see him. Julie manages to sell the funeral car.

Ollie takes Kirk's scooter for a ride. Jude is furious with being conned out of her dresses. She and Lewis argue. Susi receives a call from her brother, John, telling her that her father has been rushed to hospital. Ollie picks up Mandy on the scooter. Spike and Kurt continue to clash. Susi rushes to the hospital, only to be told by John that her father has died.

Stan tells Ollie that taking the bike was a stupid idea because he's accident prone. Ollie tells him to stop being ridiculous, but then he crashes the bike. He is horrified to see the damage on it. Susi is frustrated that she wasn't told of her father's illness. Susi and Mrs Harrison have a blazing row.

Lewis and Bazz have a row, in which Lewis calls him a pervert. Lewis goes for Bazz when Bazz tells him that most homophobes are homosexual. Ronnie is rude towards Jambo and when Jambo walks off, he tries to grab him but falls over. Ronnie fires him.

Kurt snaps at Spike. They almost fight but are stopped by a worker. Mrs Harrison blames Susi for his death, but Susi blames her, even going as far to wish her mother dead over her father. On his way to the pub, Bazz is followed and attacked.
