Episode 80 is an episode of Hollyoaks which aired on Thursday 13th February 1997.

Synopsis

Bazz confides in Lucy over his sexuality as it becomes village gossip. Kurt and Jambo ae annoyed as Tony takes things too far. Susi wonders how she can reconcile with her family, whilst Cindy attempts to profit from charity work.

Plot

Lucy is upset over Bazz. She is enraged when Kurt tells her that Bazz is at the house. Susi prepares to meet with her family. Jambo visits Kurt to apologise. Bazz bumps into Lucy, but she runs off. Kurt is stunned when Jambo tells him about Bazz's ex-boyfriend. Stan accuses Ollie of setting him up. Ollie tells him that it was Lewis. Lucy tells Carol about Bazz, and swears her to secrecy. Carol immediately tells Dawn. Cindy tells Dawn about the sponsored walk she is doing, and would also like to leave a donations jar by the counter.

Kurt tries to explain things to Ruth, who eventually gives in. Kurt tells her about Bazz. Stan tells Kurt that a deliveryman witnessed Tony get pulled over on Kurt's motorbike by the police for speeding, and told the police that his name was "James Bolton". Susi runs through the shop and into the flat, ignoring Lewis and Julie. Jambo visits Carol, asking after Anita. Carol worries about Lucy; first Rob turns out to be a murderer, now Bazz is gay. Kurt and Jambo wonder if Bazz ever had feelings for them. Lewis is horrified to learn that Bazz is gay. He calls Bazz a "poofter" and throws him out of the flat. Susi is infuriated by Lewis's further homophobic comments.

Cindy and Lewis talk about charity work. Susi tells Julie that she got to the gate of her parents' house, and ended up leaving. Julie gives Susi the idea of sending the article to her brother. Lucy is furious when Carol suggests that she could have AIDS. Dawn is worried about Bazz after Lewis threw him out. Kurt warns Jambo about Tony using his name with the police. Kurt and Jambo turn against Lewis for his behaviour. He accuses the pair of being politically correct.

Bazz visits Lucy; he says that he is confused as he wanted to kiss her. He says that everyone is assuming that he is gay, but he is attracted to both men and women. He tells her that he went to a gay bar in Ibiza, but left when a Dutch man started flirting with him. He says that he wrote his feelings into a diary which his mother read before his parents evicted him. He met Ian in a club that he was DJ'ing in, and initiated a relationship with him but he was too full-on for Bazz's liking. Lucy sympathises with Bazz, but thinks that they should discontinue the band and keep out of each other's way for a while.
