Plot

Dodger overpowers Jeremy and handcuffs him to the rails, but Jeremy manages to free himself and is pushed into the propellers of the plane by John Paul. Grace arrives at the hospital. An unconscious Nancy is loaded into an ambulance as a helpless and tearful Darren watches on. Froggy finds Clare at the hospital and warns her to stay away from his family and Tori; she turns the tables on Froggy, stating that she's been tracking him and knows his secret. When Donny then finds Clare and goes to arrest her, she tells him that Froggy's got a revenge hit heading straight for his "other life". Leela breaks down in the village in Ste's arms. James leaves, telling someone down the phone that he's on his way home and he loves them.

Donny heads to Brookside Close where he's confronted by Sheila Grant, who calls him Mick Johnson and tells him that she attended his funeral twenty years ago! She refuses to let him see his daughter, Gemma Johnson, as she was traumatised by his apparent death. Sienna and Liberty console Leela at The Hutch. Donny comes face-to-face with Gemma, who is speechless by her father's presence. Mercedes has lost her baby. She, Diane and Darren are all furious with Tony. Donny stresses to his daughter that he faked his death for her benefit, and then gets a big shock of his own when he discovers that Warren Fox is her boyfriend. Cleo goes into labour at The Hutch.

Rex is relieved when Grace comes around at the hospital. The mother and son are keen to make up for lost time and express their love for one another, but Grace then flatlines and a team are brought in to resuscitate her. At the same time, Nancy flatlines in another room. Misbah and her team are unable to revive Grace and she's declared dead. Rex breaks down in tears and is comforted by a grieving Froggy. At The Dog in the Pond, Darren confronts Tony with a gun and Tony is shot. Meanwhile, over at Brookside Close, Marie meets her new neighbour, Tinhead, and tells him that she's called Pauline, while Donny tells Warren and Gemma that they need to leave immediately, just as two thugs show up.

Notes

General

  • Part of this episode sees on-location filming at Brookside Close in the West Derby area of Liverpool. It was announced on 16th August 2025 that, as part of Hollyoaks' 30th anniversary celebrations, the show would pay homage to defunct soap opera Brookside, which ran on Channel 4 between 1982 and 2003 and was created by Phil Redmond, who later created Hollyoaks. Executive producer Hannah Cheers stated that this episode would serve as "a love letter to both Hollyoaks and Brookside", while Redmond commented that it was "great that Lime Pictures are paying homage". Filming for this special episode took place in September 2025 with exceptional permission granted by the owner of the close and the Liverpool Film Office. Part of the Brookside theme tune even plays 7 minutes and 35 seconds into the episode to signify the transition from Hollyoaks village to Brookside Close.
