Synopsis
Grace's birthday is full of surprises, while Dodger worries for Maxine. Elsewhere, Joel can't get away from Tommy.Plot
Maxine spots Dodger's bloody knuckles and wants to know what he's done. He asks her to meet him at the allotment later so he can explain everything. It's Grace's birthday, but she's not in a good mood as Dillon's blabbed to the police. She's arranged a party for later. Leela wants to tell Donny about Tommy but Joel talks her out of it. Grace expresses her disappointment to Dillon over him going to the police and urges him to come to her if there's a problem next time. When Dillon asks Grace what time he and Frankie should attend her party, she tells him that he won't be working tonight. Dodger's honest with Maxine about how he obtained his injury and explains why he can't go to the police. He shocks her when he reveals that he's working to take down Grace.
Joel confronts Tommy over him being struck off for obsessive behaviour towards a client - Billy's ex-girlfriend. He advises Tommy they stay away from each other, so Tommy turns the tables and talks down about himself to manipulate Joel. Ste and Nancy go day drinking together. Maxine heads to the police station to report a kidnapping. Frankie attends Grace's party, where she's given a vape and introduced to Ray by Grace. Nancy gets tipsy and, knowing that Grace is having a party of her own, decides to gatecrash it. Ray's willing to pay Grace for exclusive rights to Frankie, so Grace gets to work on Frankie, telling her that Ray has connections to the ballet world. Nancy then bursts through the door and is baffled to find Frankie at the party.
Donny attends to Maxine, but when she reveals that Dodger's an undercover cop, he tells her that they cannot get involved and what she's doing could put his life in danger. Refusing to sit around and do nothing, Maxine storms out, unaware that D.I. Banks has overheard some of her conversation with Donny. Nancy's fully supportive of Frankie upon hearing of Ray's connections. Grace learns from Nancy that Dodger and Maxine were together; Rex then breaks the news to her that Maxine's grassed them up. Using a listening device that he's planted on Rex's phone, Dodger worries when he hears Grace tell Rex that she's going to kill Maxine. Tommy shows up at 2 Oakdale Drive with a board game and spots an opportunity to plant something suspicious. Leela isn't happy to see Tommy in her house but Joel stands by Tommy, stating that they're friends. Maxine receives a call from Mercedes but is kidnapped by someone whilst on the call.Cast
