Plot
Mercedes has been rushed to hospital, having contracted neutropenic sepsis. She's not currently responding to the antibiotics and the next 24-hours are critical. In her hospital room, Mercedes watches a feather fall and thinks it's a sign. She asks Myra to take her home. Peri breaks the news to Cleo about Mercedes. Myra doesn't agree with Mercedes' decision to discharge herself but Mercedes insists she's ready for whatever happens next. Vicky has her baby scan today and Robbie's excited. Cleo nurses Mercedes in her bedroom as Myra desperately tries to encourage her daughter to return to hospital. Vicky's baby scan goes well and they both get tearful. She asks Robbie how he'd feel about hanging on a bit longer before they tell people the good news.
Mercedes sees another feather fall on the bedside table and tells Myra it's Gabriel waiting for her. As Grace proposes to Freddie they move on to somewhere bigger and better, a devastated Myra shows up and asks Freddie for help with Mercedes. Cleo rings the police to report a crime. Grace reluctantly agrees to go with Freddie to see Mercedes. Myra tells Mercedes she loves her and is proud of her. Mercedes cries as she doesn't want to say goodbye to her children or leave her family, but there's something inside telling her to stop fighting. She closes her eyes, saying she's tired, and Myra bawls.
Freddie sits with Mercedes and Myra removes Grace so that they can have alone time. Freddie takes Mercedes' hand and she squeezes his hand gently. Afterwards, he suggests to Grace they go for a drink, but when Grace is cold towards him the situation, he decides to go to The Loft alone, where he finds Vicky in the office and a baby scan photo on the desk. Grace returns to Mercedes' bedside and tells her she's getting what she deserves. As she walks off, Mercedes comes round and tells Grace that Freddie loves her. Deciding to fight on, she tells Myra to take her back to the hospital. Downstairs, Cleo answers the door and is mortified to see Abe.Cast
