Synopsis
Abe and Cleo's secret wedding at the Folly ends with Cleo collapsing. Meanwhile, Peri enjoys her hen do.Plot
Leela confronts Abe at the flat over Peri, making clear to him that no secret is worth her daughter's safety. Darren comes face-to-face with Robbie outside the hospital and earns himself a punch. Despite having heard Abe and Leela going at each other from inside the eaves, Cleo lies that she didn't hear anything, before asking him if they can exchange vows in the Folly. Frankie and Nancy are both floored when Darren shows up in Nancy's cubicle with flowers.
Abe tries to resolve things with Peri at 2 Oakdale Drive but she tells him that her head is all over the place, so he suggests they call the wedding off. Nancy struggles to contain her emotions upon seeing Darren again. Darren explains he ran away because he was overwhelmed and stands up for himself when Nancy comes across as belittling to his own feelings. She asks him if he'd have come home if she hadn't fallen ill and he admits he doesn't know, but he reassures her that now he's back, he's going to stay. Peri wants reassurance from Abe that he'll never lay a hand on her again. He makes his promise and the wedding is back on.
As Peri then gets herself ready for her hen do, Abe returns to Cleo and she puts on her wedding dress which she's made. She's fragile and light-headed and has to be helped by Abe across the room. Peri enjoys herself at her hen do at The Loft, but notices that something is bothering her mother. She reminds her that she can confide in her if anything's wrong. At the Folly, Cleo and Abe share their vows they've written for each other before Cleo collapses. Abe's unable to bring her around and, in a panic, wraps her up in a blanket and takes her to his car. He's unaware Martha's watching him from a distance. Driving her to a river, Abe dumps Cleo's body in the water and drives off. A hand claws the side of the riverbank after he's gone.
