Synopsis

Mercedes provides Joel with a urine sample so he can pass his drug test. Abe manipulates John Paul against Cleo. Ste asks for one more day to convince James they belong together. Sienna can sense a spark between Ethan and Vicky.

Plot

Ste wants to spend one final day with James before he signs the divorce papers. Abe tells John Paul that he and Cleo have made up, which Cleo corroborates. Abe then catches Cleo trying to delete the video of her and the escort from his phone. Mercedes tells Joel he needs professional help, but Joel claims to be "tapering off" the heroin, and that keeping his job will give him focus to get clean. Joel begs her for a urine sample so he can pass his drug test, so Mercedes relents and agrees. Cleo accuses Abe of sexual abuse, comparing his threats to put the video online to how Pete treated her. Abe tells her she's playing the victim, and her ugly behaviour brings out the worst in people. When Cleo finally tells Abe she doesn't want him anymore, he insinuates he's following through with his threat. Cleo leaves, saying she'll pay that price, as her family will be there for her. However, unbeknownst to Cleo, Abe cancels the upload.

Ste turns up at The Dog wearing the rainbow hoodie from their wedding day to generate memories, but James can only reflect on the negative. Ste questions James' drinking, so James, secretly suffering hand tremors, decides to throw an impromptu divorce party, inviting everyone, including Jez and Marie, back to his place. At The Loft, Ethan appears pleased by Sienna's concern over Vicky's interest in him. Abe visits John Paul, and lies that Cleo is manipulating him, and using emotional blackmail to stop him leaving her. At his party, an increasingly drunk James makes fun of Ste's dyslexia and addictions, before collapsing. Ethan and Vicky exchange flirtatious banter, but when Sienna walks in, Ethan calls it mates having harmless fun. Sienna remarks that she doesn't think either of them want to be mates. Ethan claims Vicky is too young, and probably isn't that into him, but Sienna isn't convinced. When Sienna leaves, Vicky approaches Ethan and asks if he's ever going to take her for a drink.

Ste tries to persuade James to go to hospital, but James asks him why he's making things so difficult. James tells Ste to come back later so they can talk, as his hands continue to shake. John Paul tells Cleo that Abe told him she slept with an escort, videoed it and then threatened to embarrass Abe by putting it online. Before Cleo has a chance to explain the truth, John Paul presses that he's worried about her behaviour and the fact she won't accept help. Cleo becomes upset and walks away, bumping into Abe who has been listening. Abe tells Cleo he didn't upload the video, but has proven his point that her family would not have her back as she believed they would. Joel thanks Mercedes for helping him pass his drug test, and they hug, witnessed by Leela. At home, Abe force feeds Cleo, telling her he knows she's upset now, but he will make her love him again. Ste returns to James' flat, walking in on James and Jez getting amorous. James tells Ste that maybe now he'll realise he doesn't want him anymore. At the end of her shift, Ethan offers Vicky a drink, but she says he'll have to do better than her place of work. Ethan watches Vicky dance, appearing tempted.
