Episode 6449 is an episode of Hollyoaks which aired on Tuesday 27th August 2024.
Synopsis
Abe tries to make excuses about the previous night, Ste worries about James' welfare, and Joel and Mercedes visit Warren in prison.Plot
Abe tries to downplay his behaviour from the previous evening, but Cleo wants him to stay away from her. Mercedes wants Joel to visit Warren in prison. Joel says he's too busy preparing to return to work the next day, but secretly, Joel is worried about failing the mandatory drug test. Diane and Tony catch Kitty trying to make a quick exit, under surveillance from Dave. Worried about the pills he found, Ste sends Maxine to check on James. James informs Maxine that the pills are for a headache, and becomes annoyed that Ste is spreading false rumours about his apparent breakdown. Outside the hospital, Cleo supports Prince with his fears for Theo. Cleo tries using Prince as an excuse not to go with Abe for lunch, but Prince inadvertently gives her no option but to. James confronts Ste, who insists he's just worried James is going to do something stupid with the pills, overheard by Leah. James coldly responds he's survived bigger disappointments than Ste cheating on him.
At Casa McQueen, Abe admits to having anger issues, but wants another chance. Abe blames his childhood, but Cleo doesn't accept that as an excuse, and acknowledges Kitty was right about him. When Cleo tries to get John Paul's attention, Abe grabs her wrist to stop her leaving, fearful of what she's going to say. In order to placate him, Cleo lets Abe think she'll allow him to fix things, but then immediately asks John Paul for his help once she gets away. Joel decides to accompany Mercedes to visit Warren. Warren maintains he was set up, but he's going to deal with whoever is behind it. Warren turns his attention to Joel, asking Mercedes to try and keep him off the heroin, as they are the only ones who knows he's using, and he's worried Joel will overdose. In The Dog car park, Kitty says a proper goodbye to Tony, Diane and Ro, offers some final support to Ro, then departs in a taxi. John Paul helps Cleo pack her stuff, under the impression it's all because of Abe sleeping with Theresa.
Leah visits James, and James comes to realise that it's not only Ste who is concerned for his welfare. James assures Leah that, although he isn't fine, he's not going anywhere, and the pills really were just for a headache. Leah tells him if he's willing to throw away what he has with her dad, he's maybe not as smart as she always thought. At The Cage, Cleo confirms her plans to stay indefinitely, but then receives a video recording of herself sleeping with the escort. Joel admits to Mercedes he only visited Warren so she'd owe him a favour, and asks her to help him cheat his drug test. Leah tells Ste that she genuinely believes James just had a headache, and that they'll find there way back to each other, but then Maxine delivers divorce papers on James' behalf. Cleo confronts Abe about the recording, and he insinuates it won't make its way online so long as Cleo remains his girlfriend. Abe orders Cleo to get her stuff and move back in with him, as Cleo breaks down in tears. Leela advises Joel to get some sleep before their return to work the next day, as he receives a message from his dealer.Cast
