Synopsis

Dave threatens Kitty as revenge for Lizzie's death, Ste worries after speaking with James, and finally standing up to Abe makes things worse for Cleo.

Plot

Cleo refuses to sleep with the escort, despite Abe's claims it will level the playing field between them. Abe berates Cleo for reacting so badly to something he organised to make her happy. Dillon is upset he has failed his driving test and won't be able to take Lucas to Cornwall. As Ste laments the end of his marriage, Leah asks for Dillon's help. Abe twists the situation, telling Cleo that her changing her mind about opening up their relationship after he's slept with someone else isn't his fault. Sally arrives, telling Cleo there's an emergency. Jez confirms his pansexuality to Dilly, prompting Liberty to reveal it's something he has in common with Sienna, surprising Jez and initiating drinks and dancing. Cleo realises her family are holding an intervention for her bulimia relapse. Cleo calls Theresa "thick" for sleeping with Abe, before telling the family she feels judged. John Paul advises her to accept their support, but Cleo claims she doesn't need it. Abe convinces Theresa that Cleo is his priority, and they hug, witnessed by Cleo.

Dillon and Lucas make plans to take a bus to Blackpool, then help Leah concoct a plan to get James and Ste back together. At the Folly, Dave blames Kitty for Lizzie's death, by altering the course of her life when she got her pregnant. Cleo invites the escort back to the flat, and sleeps with him. Dilly wonders if the vibe has changed now that she and Sienna aren't sisters, but Sienna assures her they are still family. When left alone, Jez and Liberty share a kiss. James exits the hospital, seemingly unwell, and crosses paths with Ste. They work out they have been set up, and Ste convinces James to hear him out. Dave threatens Kitty, admitting he's killed before, asking why he should spare her. Kitty reveals she's going to prison anyway, as she's handing herself in to free Beau. Dave tells her to flee the village, never speak of their conversation, and leave Beau to rot in prison; that will be her punishment.

Abe returns home as the escort is leaving. Cleo tells him she did what he wanted, but feels disgusting. Abe sarcastically replies that being treated like a scumbag for hiring an escort, then having his girlfriend sleep with said escort anyway, is exactly what he wanted. Abe says at least they are even now, and the bonus is Cleo no longer has the moral high ground. Abe calls Cleo a slag, and she finally stands up for herself, telling Abe she's too good for him. James admits to still loving Ste, but complains of a headache, then states that every time he's allowed himself to trust someone, he's lost them, and he can't do it anymore. Jez and Liberty agree to forget their kiss ever happened. Ste follows James home, admitting the way James spoke earlier scared him. Ste finds pills, and worries James was about to overdose himself. As Abe whistles cheerfully through the flat, a terrified Cleo cries on the floor, as memories of crashing and begging Abe to stop echo in her head.
