Synopsis

Ant confesses his involvement in the "Ash" situation, and Darren confronts JJ with Frankie's allegation.

Plot

Frankie panics when she thinks Darren doesn't believe her, but Darren asks her when it happened. Frankie tells Darren JJ has sexually abused her so many times. Frankie explains many actions in her past were to avoid being alone with JJ, and the realisation sets in for Darren. Darren assures Frankie he can see she's telling the truth. Darren promises to help, but Frankie begs him not to tell anyone.

Ant confirms he and Arlo are behind the "Ash" persona, confessing he was sick of Ro being the favourite, but wants to make it up with him. Frankie tells Darren she doesn't want JJ to get in trouble, or be bullied herself, if others find out. Frankie goes to the toilet, then JJ appears asking Darren for a lift to a party. Darren asks Cindy to stay with Frankie, then joins JJ in the car. When Tony apologises for Diane's drunken behaviour, Dave offers his support, and Diane asks how he thinks he can help. Dave retorts that Diane's issue is Ro not acting how she wants him to act, and asks her to compare it to burying your daughter. Diane responds it feels like they've lost their daughter, but Tony angrily responds that drinking gives her an ugly head transplant.

In the car, Darren asks JJ why Frankie was upset in the changing room earlier. JJ suggests it was because he was getting all the attention. Darren confronts JJ with Frankie's allegation of touching, and JJ immediately becomes defensive, calling Frankie "sick". Tony confronts Diane about her drinking; how she's irritable in the morning but then cheers up by the evening when she has a drink in her. Diane apologises, and says she'll change tomorrow, as she pours another glass of wine.

At home, JJ reminds Darren of Frankie's lies about Jack, saying she's now trying to ruin his life by "crying rape". Darren challenges the use of the word "rape", as it hadn't been used before now. Darren acknowledges Frankie's past cries for help, but JJ calls it attention seeking, begging Darren to believe him over her. Darren recounts seeing Frankie flinch when JJ touched her earlier. JJ says it would've been for Darren's benefit, but Darren counters that Frankie wouldn't have been aware he was watching. JJ accuses Frankie of having a long-running, sinister plan, and calls her "mental". Darren asks, if that's the case, why is he being so defensive instead of caring for Frankie's mental state. Darren gives JJ one final chance to admit the truth, but JJ gets aggressive in his denial, and Darren tells him he doesn't believe him.

Ro tells Frankie about what Ant has been doing, not believing a twin brother could do something so hurtful, unknowingly empathising with Frankie's issues with JJ. Darren informs Suzanne of Frankie's allegations, and JJ's denial. Suzanne reacts furiously, accusing Frankie of going too far this time, shocking Darren. Outside The Dog, Ant tries to make him up with Ro by gifting him razors, boxers and a cap. A drunk Diane stumbles out, and Tony asks her not to put drink before him, forcing Dee Dee to ask if they're going to split up. Diane promises she only wants Ro to have the best future, but Ro asks her to prove it by stopping drinking. Suzanne continues to accuse Frankie of lying, but Darren remains in defence of her, accusing JJ of grooming and begging Suzanne to see things as they are. Suzanne remains steadfast in her beliefs, and takes JJ out of the house. Darren promises to protect and support Frankie, as she cries in his arms.
