Synopsis
Joel makes amends with Marie and suggests she moves in with him and Leela. Things are awkward between Kitty and Beau. Carter tries his best to win Maxine back.Plot
Carter refuses John Paul's request to end his suspension, and they argue about Carter's sexuality, resulting in Carter threatening to tell the governors John Paul was suspended for drinking at work. At The Dog, Joel continues to try to make amends with Marie, and books a nail appointment with her to force them to talk. Lizzie and Kitty chat about Kitty's upcoming nursing training and her situation with Beau. Declan visits Carter at his home, and they reflect on how they first met when Carter was a weak teenager, and on the great work they have done together since. However, he states that Carter has become complacent, which is why saving Lucas is so important. Maxine arrives at the flat and agrees to hear Carter out.
Leah and Lucas return to school, and Lucas tells Dillon he doesn't want anything to do with him. Carter and Maxine discuss their situation at the Bazaar. Carter asks for another chance, and spontaneously proposes. Maxine turns him down; embarrassed Carter has made this so public and stating Carter doesn't know who he is. Joel attends his nail appointment, and after reflection on her time in prison, Marie and Joel apologise to each other. Dillon tries to encourage Lucas to be honest about he feels about him, but Lucas runs off. Joel asks Marie to move in with him and Leela to save money for the search for Arlo.
Lucas admits to Carter that Dillon tried to kiss him, but says he resisted and wants to be like Carter. A conflicted Carter asks Lucas if it would've been a terrible thing if Lucas had let Dillon kiss him if it's what he wants deep down. Lucas responds that what he wants isn't healthy, and Carter pretends he was testing Lucas. At The Dog, Beau apologises to Kitty for his behaviour the night before, but Kitty tells him this isn't the first time a man has rejected her and states the two of them are done. Lucas makes a speech to the group at Carter's session, and Declan presents Lucas with a cross necklace, emphasising his connection to the church is forever, leaving Carter looking conflicted. Marie tells Abe and Cleo the search for Arlo is going to continue. Abe doesn't look pleased, then looks worried when Joel announces they've hired a new private investigator.Cast
