Synopsis
James finds his car keys in Ste's pocket and learns a devastating truth about the day of the crash that killed Ella. A comment from Cleo results in Leela coming clean to her daughter about her engagement. Lucas agrees to let Carter help him.Plot
Ste's riddled with panic but manages to get into James' car and escape unnoticed by the police. Carter tells Lucas that he thinks his father is the root of his problems and offers to be the constant figure that helps him, but Lucas would rather be expelled. Joel's taken off the ventilator and comes round; the induced coma has helped with his kidney function. Ste pulls up in a quiet place and sets the car on fire. Carter invites Dillon over for tea with him, Freya and Maxine when he hears that Dillon wants to go and check on Lucas. Ste heads to the park with a bottle of vodka.
Leela's uncomfortable by Cleo's presence at the hospital but Cleo insists she and Joel are a thing of the past. Peri learns from Cleo that Leela's engaged to Joel. A drunken Ste returns home and alarms his family. Peri learns that Leela's lied about her engagement to Joel because she's threatened by Cleo. Leah cries over the state Ste's got himself in and blames herself while Lucas brands his father a disgrace. James sends Leah to Leela's and then finds his car keys in Ste's pocket. Carter tells Dillon he approves of his and Freya's relationship. Ethan's spoken to a friend who works on ships to Amsterdam and has agreed to smuggle Dilly across, but she refuses to go.
Cleo finds Abe outside the hospital after a job interview with Misbah. He suggests they go on a date but Cleo doesn't feel ready to date anyone just yet, so Abe turns to Hunter for help. James questions Ste over the car keys and wants to go to the police to explain there's been a misunderstanding, but Ste stops him and admits he ran Ella over with his car and killed her. He breaks down as James absorbs the news. Lucas turns to Carter and asks him to be the stable figure in his life. Ste begs James to let him score but James refuses to and imprisons him in his own home.Cast
