Synopsis
John Paul and Carter make a breakthrough. Prince has problems with his new cellmate, Nathan. Zain helps Darren with his insecurities, whilst Mercedes tries to shut out a persistent Warren.Plot
John Paul finds Carter hosting a conversion therapy session in the school hall. Prince has problems with his new cellmate, Nathan. Darren does the housework before going out with Zain. Carter threatens to fire John Paul, who vows to end his "therapy". Prince is nervous when Nathan deals drugs from their cell. Warren snaps at Darren and Zain. Carter has to end the meeting and things get confrontational between him and John Paul. Zain worries about Darren's motives for getting fit.
Sally shows Goldie what she's bought John Paul for his birthday. Goldie starts to worry about Mercedes. Prince tells Hunter about his worries in prison. John Paul tries to give advice to an uncomfortable Carter. Freya overhears Carter talking about a secret. Darren admits his insecurities to Zain. Carter tells Freya that he found alcohol in John Paul's desk. Freya demands that John Paul stays away, and John Paul is incredulous with Carter.
Hunter thinks that Prince's lawyer is doing a poor job but the McQueens can't afford someone else. Mercedes continues to reject Warren, telling him that losing the baby breaks their last tie. Carter sees the damage he is doing to John Paul. Nathan tries to threaten Prince into being his lookout whilst he deals drugs. John Paul tells Carter that he's made 'not being gay' is his whole identity. Someone catches John Paul and Carter kissing on camera.Cast

- This was the first episode to be transmitted in 2024.
- This episode was originally produced and scheduled with the intention to broadcast on 4th January 2024, but due to Hollyoaks being removed from the Channel 4 schedule at short notice, its 'intended' Channel 4 Streaming date of 2nd January 2024 at 7:30 pm became its new official date, however, this episode was released as part of the 2023 festive boxset which launched on 22nd December 2023. This episode premiered on E4 on 3rd January 2024 at 7:00 pm.
