Synopsis
Mercedes celebrates her 40th birthday. John Paul is made to feel like a failure in front of Matthew-Jesus. Tony focuses on his family and Ella learns Warren's secrets.Plot
Mercedes walks down the City Wall and reflects on her mistakes. Warren worries that Felix was the one who overheard him and Mercedes. Mercedes's family throw her a party. Diane wants to return to normality as soon as possible. Matthew-Jesus video-calls and asks John Paul to buy him a bicycle. Warren and Mercedes are relieved to find that Felix didn't overher them, but worry about who did. John Paul is alarmed by the price of bicycles. He asks for work at The Dog in the Pond.
Mercedes wallows in self-pity. Nana tells her that Queenie McQueen celebrated her 21st in an air raid shelter and changes Mercedes's mind about the party. Ella confronts Warren. Carter helps John Paul raise money for Matthew-Jesus's bike as he humiliates himself advertising specials for The Dog in the Pond. Warren is cold towards Ella who enjoys teasing him over his infidelity. Tony returns to the pub with a surprise for the kids.
Mercedes is overjoyed by Felix's present. John Paul discovers that Myra's new "friend" Travis has bought Matthew a bike. John Paul isn't pleased but Travis reveals Myra did it as she didn't trust John Paul to keep his word. Tony has a photo of the Hutchinson family (including an edited Beau, Harry and Grace) made to be hung up in the pub. Rose 'accidentally' smashes the frame. Felix makes a speech at Mercedes's birthday. Warren's present to her is 10% of his share of Warren's Wheels. Carter invites John Paul on a camping trip with the group. Ella listens in on Warren and Mercedes speaking in the office and realises she's the mystery woman.Cast

Mistakes
- Nana McQueen's story of Queenie McQueen celebrating her 21st birthday in an air raid shelter during World War II gives Queenie a year-of-birth of between 1918 and 1924, contradicting Nana's mention in February 2018 that Queenie was a suffragette (an activist organisation active from 1903 to 1918) and rumoured to have held Emily Davison's handbag on the day of Davison's death in 1913.

- This episode was originally produced and scheduled with the intention to broadcast on 25th October 2023, but due to Hollyoaks being removed from the Channel 4 schedule at short notice, its Channel 4 Streaming date of 23rd October 2023 at 7:30 pm became its new official date. This episode premiered on E4 on 24th October 2023 at 7:00 pm.
