Synopsis
Romeo is thrown further into the spotlight for Rayne's murder. Goldie apologises to Carter and invites him over for lunch tomorrow. Jack puts Dave in his place.Plot
Cheryl protests Brent's innocence in the village when hounded by Rayne's fans. Goldie tries to get John Paul to read the Holy Bible but fails. An old video is uploaded to Rayne's social media account. In it, Rayne tells the camera that she feels like she can't open up to Romeo as she doesn't know how he'll react. Jack decides to accompany Pearl during her shift at Price Slice. When Pearl gets a moment alone with Sharon, she admits to her that she's not sure that she and Jack want the same things. James comes face-to-face with Romeo at the share house. Romeo refuses to hang around because people think he killed Rayne.
Sally suggests Goldie revises her first impressions of Carter for John Paul's sake. Romeo drops a diary whilst packing and James picks it up and reads the following poem: "It's the pain that I inflict, the pain from my fist... I love you. I need you. What's so broken in me that I may go so far to... kill you.". He questions Romeo on whether it's about Rayne. Jack vents to Pearl about his new roommate so she gives him some advice. Romeo tells James he wrote the poem from Rayne's perspective as she was the one hitting him. Goldie apologises to Carter and then tells him he's coming to lunch tomorrow. James supports Romeo but insists he can't tell anyone he was a victim of domestic abuse as people will think he killed Rayne. John Paul isn't certain that Goldie doesn't have an ulterior motive for tomorrow's lunch with Carter.
James makes Romeo pack a bag to leave the village for a while. Cheryl confronts James once he's alone and delights in telling him that it won't be long until Brent's vindicated and Romeo's imprisoned thanks to the videos that Rayne has in her drafts. With Pearl by his side, Jack confronts Dave over his messiness and demands he shows some respect to the house. When John Paul tries to talk Carter out of lunch with the family, Carter tells John Paul he has trust issues and he always thinks the worst of his family. After seeing Romeo off, James tells Ste he needs to see Brent as he doesn't want Romeo put in the frame. In the back of the taxi, Romeo makes a phone call, telling the person on the other end of the line that he hasn't told anyone what happened at the manor.Cast

- This episode was originally produced and scheduled with the intention to broadcast on 9th October 2023, but due to Hollyoaks being removed from the Channel 4 schedule at short notice, its Channel 4 Streaming date of 5th October 2023 at 7:30 pm became its new official date. This episode premiered on E4 on 6th October 2023 at 7:00 pm.
