Synopsis
Warren tries to make a deal with Mercedes. Goldie tries to sort the family's money troubles. Rayne and Romeo grow closer over a promotional video, whilst Sienna and Grace bicker over the children's' World Book Day dress-up.Plot
DeMarcus is unimpressed when he learns that Felix and Mercedes are sleeping together. Goldie finds her old pregnancy bump in a rubbish bag. Romeo finds Rayne attempting to stack books on her head. DeMarcus sends several texts to Vicky, but gets no response. He tells Felix that he disapproves of his relationship with Mercedes because Bobby tried to kill him and Mercedes tried to cover it up. He is annoyed when Felix makes excuses for her. Hunter reveals that he has applied for a teaching job at Hollyoaks High School.
Romeo tells Rayne about her promotion for World Book Day. Mercedes has a lack of success looking for jobs due to her reputation. Felix answers her call from the recruitment agency and talks her up as his "best employee". Grace and Sienna bicker over their children's' costumes for the dress-up competition. Felix shows DeMarcus the car he's bought him. He's appreciative and wants to help fix it up. Warren warns Felix off Mercedes, especially after learning of the McQueens' money troubles.
Tom's interruption during Rayne and Romeo's video gives her all the material she wants for her promotion. DeMarcus is angry to learn that Mercedes damaged the car. As he climbs under the car, Warren notices the unsteady jack and pulls DeMarcus out before it collapses. Rayne confesses to Romeo that she is doing free promotion for "this adult literacy thing". Romeo reveals that Donna-Marie couldn't read until last year. DeMarcus and Felix argue over what happened. Warren thinks that he's right, but Felix isn't in the mood to listen. Lacey teases Romeo and Rayne over their closeness. Rayne reveals that she asked for Romeo's help so she could be with him. As they nearly kiss, Rayne hurriedly answers her phone.
DeMarcus asks Warren for his help in splitting up Mercedes and Felix, worrying he'll be left devastated with her like when he split with both Viv and Martine. Warren arranges to meet with Mercedes. Sienna is furious to learn that Curtis won the competition and even more so when Jack compliments his costume. Goldie makes contact with "Prickly Pete" about a job, whilst John Paul helps Hunter apply at schools. Warren meets with Mercedes. He offers to help her family financially, so long she dumps Felix for good.Cast
