Synopsis
The truth is out about Verity's death, but Mercedes blames herself. Lizzie helps Maxine promote the upcoming women's rally. DeMarcus has a grand gesture up his sleeve to prove to Vicky how much he loves her.Plot
Mercedes is in disbelief. DeMarcus wants to be left alone. Dave visits Tony and Diane. Mercedes gets Bobby to confess to Zoe. DeMarcus opens up to Pearl about how he's feeling and is advised to reiterate to Vicky what he's told her. Dave asks Tony if he'll talk to Eric for him to try and get Honour off the hook, but Tony refuses. Scott tries cheering Vicky up. He sends her out to get ice-cream and whilst she's gone DeMarcus shows up asking for Scott's help. Maxine puts posters up around the village for her rally but Lizzie and Damon think they're "too nice".
Mercedes says goodbye to Bobby at the police station and breaks down outside after he's gone. She tells John Paul that Verity's dead because of her. Scott helps DeMarcus with a speech for Vicky and then arranges for Vicky and Ella to meet him at the gardens in an hour. A concerned John Paul fills Goldie in on Mercedes' confession before asking her for help in finding Mercedes. Mercedes heads to the Dog and tells Tony she's the reason that Verity's dead. Lizzie records a powerful promotional video to put on the events socials and puts Dave in his place when he makes some questionable remarks.
Mercedes lets herself into the Dog and begins drinking. She tells Tony and Diane that if she'd turned her son into the police sooner he'd never have killed Verity. DeMarcus gives a public speech in the gardens for Vicky. Mercedes exposes all of Bobby's wrongdoings to Tony. John Paul finds Mercedes and takes her away. DeMarcus insists to Vicky he's not scared of the distance. They agree to be boyfriend and girlfriend. John Paul asks Felix to try and get through to Mercedes. Mercedes blames herself for Bobby's actions; Felix tells Mercedes she needs to let the guilt go before it swallows her up, but Mercedes is adamant she doesn't deserve to be forgiven.Cast
