Synopsis
Maxine finds out just how dangerous Eric is. Mason tries to prevent Eric's plans succeeding, but he's stopped in his tracks by an enraged Charlie and is hospitalised when Charlie beats him up. Nancy helps Darren realise teaching may not be for him.Plot
Maxine regains consciousness in the back of the caravan as Eric drives them to an unknown location. Mason leaves Leah an apologetic voicemail. John Paul and Goldie find empty wine bottle at the Cage and deduce Mercedes has downed them. Ste finds a teary Leah and wants to know what's wrong. Matthew-Jesus wants to go and live with Myra. Diane can't find the car keys and thinks Eric has them. Eric pulls up near an old house. He ties Maxine up in the caravan and takes her phone away. He tells Maxine he can't let her go now she's seen his manifesto. Nancy wants to help Darren follow his dreams. Eric has chains and keylocks. He says it's time to "check out" and posts a link to the Men First group chat.
Ste confronts Mason and informs him he's going to the police to report him. Maxine questions Eric over a plane tattoo he has. He tells her the tattoo reminds him of the transient nature of human relationships; don't trust his mother or rely on her because she's going to go. He's also convinced that his mother and sister hated him, like everyone else. Maxine insists she doesn't hate Eric and thinks he can be "lovely". Eric sees through Maxine's lies and says that women are manipulative and constantly trying to play men, ending with a declaration that Maxine will die. Charlie's furious when Ste abides to Leah's wishes of not going to the police and heads to sort Mason out himself.
Nana's attempts at showing Matthew-Jesus he has a nana who'll do anything fail. She concludes Mercedes is the problem. Eric sends a text from Maxine's phone to throw away any suspicions of her disappearance. Having read the Men First chat, Mason senses something bad is about to happen, but before he can alert anyone, he's badly beaten by Charlie. John Paul turns to Felix in the hopes he'll talk to Mercedes. Darren gets an idea of what teaching is like after spending the day with Nancy and realises the career might not be for him. Mason's hospitalised. Eric opens up his case and reveals a crossbow. He reiterates his plans to kill Maxine, but only after he's killed her family and friends first...Cast
