Synopsis
James leaves Maxine in disbelief when he represents Eric at the police station, but he has an ulterior motive. Nancy fears that Darren might be depressed again. Leah's devastated when she finds out that the photo of her has been posted on a website.Plot
James questions Maxine when he's begged by Eric to represent him. A photo of Mason is turned into a meme and is circulating around Hollyoaks High. Oscar makes a card for Beau; Darren's put out when he learns it's not for him. James lectures Maxine on her actions perverting the course of justice. Maxine asks James not to represent Eric. Lizzie has no sympathy for Mason, unlike Serena. Darren can't shake off his doubts over Beau. Words from Jack leave Nancy wondering if he's depressed again. James represents Eric, who's released when the fingerprint analysis on the spiking test don't match his.
Lizzie makes Mason apologise to Leah at school. Maxine's horrified to see Eric in the village. She then finds out from Zoe that James represented Eric. At the Dog, Eric ruffles feathers with his remarks to Tony and Diane. James tells Eric he thinks he's talking sense and Maxine's victimised him. He tries to get the truth out of Eric about the spiking but is unable to. A cryptic Eric hints he has bigger plans up his sleeve. When confronted by Maxine, James confirms to her that Eric's the spiker and if they don't stop him, he'll do much worse. James stresses to Maxine they need a plan to bring Eric down and she's not to go after him.
Nancy reassures Darren of his role in her life and within the family. Maxine gets hold of Eric's caravan key and makes her way inside. She finds a poster of the women of the village with nasty words written all over it and then the spiking kit. She's unaware that Eric's seen her from outside. Leah visits Mason, wanting confirmation on whether his apology was genuine or not. Mason insists it was, but Leah then sees the image of her posted online on his laptop and is sickened. Maxine photographs the evidence she has on her phone, but before she can get out of the caravan, Eric locks her inside, couples the caravan to Hutchinson's car and tells her they're going on a road trip. The movement of the caravan throws Maxine around and knocks her unconscious.Cast
