Synopsis
Misbah takes action when Ali breaches protocol, but he continues to act threatening towards her. Lizzie blames Maxine for Serena's injuries, but Serena tries to keep the family together. Mercedes tries to find a way to win Bobby over.Plot
The Chen-Williamses wait for news on Serena. Ali tells the theatre nurse to leave the theatre when they refuse to give Ali the scalpel. Mercedes checks Bobby's tablet for messages from Silas. John Paul reminds her of Sally returning home. Dave arrives at the hospital and tries to remain optimistic. Bobby unprovokedly snaps at John Paul and Mercedes. Zain tells Misbah that he has been referred to a counsellor. Misbah vents to him about Ali. Lizzie demands that Maxine tells Dave and Honour the truth. Peri is alarmed when she learns that Ali is performing Serena's surgery.
Misbah decides to look for a job in a different hospital. Peri makes a false code red alarm to bring Ali out of surgery, telling him to stand down or else she will report him. Ali threatens her, leaving her shakened. Peri calls Misbah and informs her of the situation. Maxine prepares to tell the truth, but Dave spots Peri and tries to get answers. Misbah confronts Ali and forces him to leave.
Serena awakens from the operation. As Maxine tells Honour about what happened last night, Serena takes the blame. Bobby is upset as he failed his geography test and is eager to return to school. Maxine prepares to tell Dave the truth, but backs out when he praises her. Sally advises Mercedes to take Bobby's learning outdoors.
Ali prepares to make a complaint to Dawn about Serena's operation but Dawn furiously informs him that Misbah has spoken with her first. She suspends him, pending investigation. Misbah informs Serena and her family that an orthopedic surgeon noted damage to the tibial nerve, potentially from Ali's surgery. Lizzie tells Dave and Honour that Serena fell from the roof as Maxine threw a medal at her. Ali threatens to make Misbah pay.Cast
