Synopsis
Shaq's infuriated when he overhears Eric supporting Ali. Maxine worries she'll have to quit her job when Verity wants to discuss her extending her contracted hours. Ste's ripped off by Nana. Serena discovers she's landed a place at the Commonwealth Games.Plot
Zain shows Misbah, Imran and Yasmine the Chester Herald's front-page story on Ali. Serena tells Lizzie she might be in the running to join team England. Leela feels they can't sell 2 Oakdale Drive in its current state. Imran's angry at the article, while Yasmine writes up and publishes online her own article contradicting Ali's story. Verity asks Maxine to work late for the third time in a week. Maxine fears she's going to lose her job as she won't be able to afford after-school clubs for Minnie if she changes her hours.
Ste purchases paint and the relevant gear necessary from Nana so that they can redecorate the house. Shaq pins Eric when he overhears Eric defending Ali to Verity. Serena's place at the Commonwealth Games is confirmed. Maxine comes across the excitable pair and is told of Serena's good news. Nadira stops Shaq getting violent with Eric. Eric runs off and finds Ali. He congratulates Ali and offers to buy him a coffee, which Ali turns down. Leela and Ste prepare the house for redecoration. Leela's annoyed at Ste when she opens up one of the tins of paint to find it has been replaced with sand! Yasmine's article is hit by trolls. Misbah and Yasmine read the comments and are put down by them. Misbah feels like Ali's won.
Lizzie, Serena and Maxine celebrate Serena's news. Serena asks Lizzie and Maxine to keep the news between them until she can find a way to tell Dave and Honour the news. Misbah and Yasmine give each other the strength to keep going. Shaq texts Yasmine asking her to read the comments section on her article again, which are this time flooded with supportive messages. Ste fails to get his money back from Nana. Dave offers to pay for Minnie's after-school clubs using Serena's athletic fund, totally unaware of Serena's news. Misbah comes face-to-face with Ali at work. Ali's had his job reinstated, and he makes clear to Misbah that he intends to make her life hell.Cast
