Synopsis
Verity has to break shocking news to Misbah on the day of Ali's trial. Romeo's determined to help Donna-Marie upon learning she can't read. The reality that 2 Oakdale Drive will have to be sold starts to hit Ste.Plot
It's the day of the trial and Misbah's ready to tell the world about the monster Ali really is. Ste and Leela hold a car boot sale at the Dog's car park. Juliet's in a bad mood and Peri doesn't improve it. Shaq tells Misbah and Zain that he and Nadira are stronger than ever. Dave invites Maxine to meet him at the Dog later. Romeo can't understand why Donna-Marie's only ever replying to his texts with emojis. He assumes she's back on the game, so she admits she can't read.
Verity meets Misbah, Zain and Yasmine outside the court. Shaq makes the point of showing off the strength of his and Nadira's relationship in front of Juliet as she works at Burger, She Wrote. As soon as Nadira's left alone with Juliet, Juliet gives Nadira words of advice. Romeo's determined to help Donna-Marie learn to read. Ali leaves court with Julian having been acquitted. Dave doesn't show up at the Dog because he's eaten a burger that's disagreed with him. Donna-Marie adopts a quitters attitude but Romeo hangs in tight.
Leela and Ste's car boot sale only raises them £94.54. Ste's upset because he convinced himself they raised more. Leela accepts defeat and decides they have to sell 2 Oakdale Drive. Verity explains to Misbah that an old photo surfaced online of Ali with one of his accusers; they were laughing and drinking and because it wasn't disclosed pre-trial, it appears to depict a relationship between Ali and the accuser. Then, when the other accuser heard the prosecution's opening argument she had a panic attack and withdrew her statement. Leela and Ste break the news to Leah and Peri about the house. Ali gives a statement outside the hospital, before telling Julian he'll soon have his revenge.Cast
